The argument is a crap one to start with. The fact is, none of the current crop of England goalkeepers are fit to lace the boots of those of yesteryear. We should be looking at why. That is the important question.

Robinson does come for crosses better than Green, who can be hesitant. However, Robinson is awful in the positional sense - his shot stopping isn't poor, but his start position is, which leads to him letting in more shots than other keepers in the same situation.

He was good of that there is no doubt. You Wolves fans do over egg somewhat though - probably due to being used to Bobby Mimms and Paul Jones :P

No way Theo Walcott should be in ahead of Ashley Young and noway Heskey should be in instead of Agbonlahor. Ashley Young has been consistent over the past two years, great crosser, great at set pieces and a proper wide man. Can play either flank. Theo on the other hand has been.... anonymous for anything more than a handful of games in 2 years ( I admit some of those games he has been unplayable but it certainly isn't more than 1 in 10!). Can only think he has been picked as a possible impact player as we don't really have much that could come off the bench and change games.

Still a lot of players in that squad you look at and think "a World Cup winner? Really?" but then when I look at a lot of other squads it looks quite decent.

Brazil always do well in World Cup's but surely their odds are on name only, there is nothing there except a bunch of average forwards and a load of (mediocre) holding midfielders!

Hopefully we can do well, if Capello can galvanise the team and get the best out of some of the recent big under performers (Barry, Gerrard, Carrick) to name a few and get King, Rio and Johnson fit then it looks a solid team. If he can't get them fit, and Gerrard and Carrick keep up their recent embarrassing form then there are huge holes to plug.

Something that worries me about Villa from the last couple of seasons is that they seem to choke towards mid/end of the season. Not sure if that's from the players being under experienced or O'Neil doesn't know how to maintain the momentum but take that on to the World Cup they will be under more pressure and apart from Heskey (who been there and done that) and Milner (a f**king brilliant work horse) I would leave them at home as I wouldn't trust them to preform on the big stage.

3 Wolves players in the preliminary squads:

Nenad Milijas (Serbia)

Marcus Hanhemann (USA)

Adlene Guedioura (Algeria)

No George Elokobi in the Cameroon squad though - not that I expected him to be.

Argentina have left out Cambiasso, Zanetti, Gago and Milito.

I don't follow South American football too closely - does anyone know why? Have they fallen out with Maradona or does he really think that Colloccini is a better option?!

Madness.

He's left Cambiasso out? Seriously?

That really is a crazy decision. He was by far the best player on the pitch when Inter played Barca at the Nou Camp the other week. Absolutely bossed the game.

They think a certain Mr Messi is going to deliver them the cup on their own!!

I think the real shock is that he has selected Veron. God knows what he's doing, he already used 70 players.

Brad Jones, Rhys Williams and Scott McDonald are all in the Australia squad, I imagine Killen is in the New Zealand squad.
