I dunno - Capello can't win either way. If he drops him, would he ever regain his confidence enough to play for England again? If he keeps him and he drops another clanger, the fallout would be immense. I would have played Hart anyway.

One thing I firmly believe is that we could play worse than we did on Saturday and beat both this lot on yesterday's showing. But we need to play better if we've any chance of making an impact on the tournament. I'm confident we can. Barry will hopefully help with that.

Did you enjoy the festy?

I wouldnt underestimate slovenia, they had the second best defensive record in euro qualifying. England and america should beat them but I wouldnt be amazed to see slovenia draw at least one game. As for algeria they are useless. I think england should be sensibe though, no point winning 3 or 4 nil when you can win 1 or 2 nil with a lot less effort. As the tournament advances england willl play better sides and end up chasing the ball a lot. Now is the time to conserve energy.

Just back from a weekend at Rockness. So far the majority of the world cup I've seen, has been terrible.

I saw most of the England v USA game.

Was this headline perhaps a little hasty?

I actually really enjoyed the BBC Coverage this evening. Big Mick did a good job as co-commentator, I thought the banter between Hansen and Seedorf (who I liked as a pundit) was entertaining and the feature on the prisoners playing football on Robben Island was very touching.

Well done BBC.

Agreed, Seedorf seems to be coming across well.

I also think Adebayor isn't doing too badly.

Not seen much of the ITV coverage yet.

After hopefully beating Algeria, then slight shame that when we play Slovenia, we play earlier in the day than the Germany-Ghana game, so won't know the final standings of that group prior, so knowing whether it's beneficial to finish top by improving goal difference or not.

We're all terrified of Germany on the assumption that what they did against Australia they'll do against better teams such as Ghana, the USA and/or England. If from the position they're in they contrive to finish second, we shouldn't be afraid of them.

What's the difference between Vuvuzelas and Marmite?

Nothing, but when was the last time 60,000 tourists tried to force feed you Marmite?

So .... is it The Kaiser who doesn't know what he's talking about, or over-excited Brits? :P

So .... is it The Kaiser who doesn't know what he's talking about, or just a fraction of today's top non-English players? :P

We can argue about it. Or we can let the results on the pitch show how it really is. :)

My money is staying in the same place.
