Muse is a band you can't go wrong with headlining. If you do see them, you won't be disappointed. It'll be a festival slot so they'll just play their old tunes and just some off the new album.

The Strokes look dead on to play if you ask me, every single forum and paper have had them so far to headline. There're probably not headline material but with a new album and it being R+L, looks like every indie kid is going to wet their pants.

Bit of a long shot, but I'm going for Blur for the 3rd headliner, just got the feeling... Thoughts?

I'm still set on the idea of a wildcard headliner who's never headlined R+L before

There's never been a reading festival with 3 repeat headliners, there's always been a new one

So far the only name that fits this is MCR, even though I can't stand them

The Strokes are arguably the most important band of the last decade, they should headline based upon their influence upon music.

Regarding SOAD's prediction - Can see a lot of the bands he mentioned playing, but I think FR will be keeping "heavy Friday" as it's now becoming based upon the past two years.

I think the Indie will be relegated to The Strokes day, Muse will have a sort of Rock/Punk day keeping the Friday at Reading heavy like the past two years and whoever's closing Reading will get TEH METULZ!!! just to stop people from moaning. ;)

I'm starting to think maybe RHCP are doing Reading. They are meant to be doing festivals this summer. Soni and IOW have announced all their headliners, Wireless doesn't exactly scream big return, doubt would be final headliner of Download (the fest will prob want someone a bit more classic rock), HRC hardly screams big return either, seems it is Eminem and Arctics for V, surely Glasto could have booked RHCP by now and from the sounds of it the third headliner for Glasto is a band/act they have wsnted for a long time. They could do their own shows and I don't know why Reading would risk booking them again but seems a decent possibility of them playing... lame

They had major sound problems for a while, probably not their fault but they just didn't seem that arsed that it was. The setlist looked very improvised and they just got off a massive tour, so they looked really tired. I'm not saying that they were THAT bad, but just little things that made the difference.
