I'd be surprised, just because i don't think any reading festival headliner has done that in the last 10 years or so.

If you're talking a secret set at glasto park stage, then i concede that would be a possibility. An advertised set though?

Guess we'll find out when announced anyway!

Just because it might not have happened before doesn't mean that it'll never happen. I know that R/L try to get exclusives, but if one of the bands they were lining up wanted to play Glasto and would knock back R/L if they insisted that they didn't, then it's more than possible that R/L would end up accepting that.

I don't think secret or advertised makes much difference with regard to Glasto. After all, the bands won't be (or at least, shouldn't be) announced for Glasto until long after the R/L tickets have been sold, so there'd be no impact onto R/L sales, which would be their biggest concern.

As I've already said tho, I'm not saying this because I particularly expect to see The Strokes at Glasto this year and at R/L, I'm saying it because it's the sort of situation that I can see happening at some point.

Well, assuming that NME have got all of their info from the Newsbeat article (which seems to be what they've done) then they've made up the UK part.

Or, they've used common sense, and concluded that R/L simply couldn't have 3 'world exclusive' headliners. Think about how many festivals there are in so many different continents, it just wouldn't happen. I think we can safely assume that he meant UK exclusive or, at a push, England.

Why is there some people on here who always seem to assume exclusive means no other fests at all.. it's pretty obvious it generally means UK or English exclusive. It's insanely rare there is a band who is totally exclusive to a fest... the only one that comes to mind recently was Pearl Jam in 06. I'm not certain if they played other fests that year but guessing they didn't as they were worried enough bout playing Reading.
