Bloody nifty piece of machinery that will give you up to 5 full charges on your phone!

Hey people.

Whilst at Bearded Theory this previous weekend I was introduced to this incredible piece of equipment.

Its a portable phone charging device that you charge up via USB at home and then using the supplied connectors (there is the usual range), you can apparently get up to 5 full charges onto an IPhone?Android phone and obviously any of the less silly phones one might take along to a festival.

The listing on Amazon is pricey but the Mongrels found theirs (which is the Ted Baker model) for only £7 on Fleabay! Bloody bargain!

Of course...following this message there will be a ridiculous amount of barrage from people going on about not taking their phones to a festy but some of us like to have them with us and so I am gladly passing on the knowledge about this beast to those who DO want to have a charger that really works instead of the stoopid Orange Chill n Charge zone.

Shop around peeps. There are bargains to be had.

Cheers, will seriously consider this, bought a £10 thing off eBay but it only charges my iPhone about 1.5 times.

Did you actually use this on an iPhone?

I havent myself (as I dont own one...) but Mr Mongrel swears by it and was using his all weekend at BT.

Pretty cool gadget, very useful for festivals.

But I'm gonna stick with my crappy old phone that lasts 5-6 days.

I have a "Solar Charger SBC-05" Cost me about £10 again with all usual adaptors. The main benefit being that as long as we get some sun - it will recharge itself ready for the next time my phone or itouch needs a charge

Those solar chargers need to be in full sunshine and left to charge...and not plugged into the phone whilst solar charging or else they dont actually work. Well, this is the case for the Freeloader anyway.

There's the problem with solar chargers, ehen am I going to get chance to leave the charger in the sun for a reasonable amount of time?

All i done last year was connect 2 6V 4R25 batteries together to give 12V and connect them to my phones car charger. You can pick the batteries up for a bout 2 quid each and I imagine most people have a car charger.

I assume it has to be in direct sunlight? Will it charge if just left in the tent all day?

Fantastic! I'm going travelling for a few months after G something like this would be brilliant. just need to do a spot of research to find out if it'd be suitible for a HTC phone and Sony MP3.

The same piece of machinery is on Fleabay for £4.99 plus £2.99 postage. I just ordered one but now not so sure if its the one I need (connector wise) as the description doesnt seem to say it comes loaded with extras and says its for Nokias. Heyho. Will just wait and see what arrives eh?
