phil the shrew
Can anyone suggest the best route to take into the site for campervans? I'm going to be in the east campervan field, but will be coming to the festival from the West Midlands -this is first year in campervan and I normally go in from the M5 and A39 direction, but the east campervan fields seem to be closer to the A37? Any suggestions for decent route will be great

Sarah-Lou
We are coming from The Midlands with a caravan for the 1st time this year and have a East campervan pass, we always get off the M5 at Jct 23 and go in that way, do we still do this?....We always end up on the West side though...So where do we go in differently? Is it Blue route for East? If we follow the sat nav postcode, how do we know we won't get taken down some thin lanes or get blocked off?! Sarah-Lou
Yes, it's the blue route for East. Unless you've got a really eager sat nav then it won't take you off roading and you can always set your sat-nav preferences to stick to major roads anyway. Or print off a route from AA Routeplanner or somesuch to compare it to?
loosechange
Last year though, we wanted to camp in the family field on the East, so I entered the East postcode into the sat nav and it wanted us to get off the M'way miles and miles before Jct 23...We stayed on the M'way...Should we have got off and gone that way or is my sat nav a pile of poo?! LOL
rischbrit
We're travelling down from staffs in camper. M5 junction 23 into shepton mallet then signs for a37 yeovil. Once you get on a37 it's all sign posted blue routes. It is easy once you get to shepton. Well it was last year anyway!
redmosquito
J23 does seem like a bit of a long way round to get to east. The best route i guess will depend on when your planning on coming down. The a37 down from Bristolnwas really quiet on the Tuesday last year. The only traffic we hit was the 5pm rush hour coming through Bristol
rischbrit
Sat nat wanted us off at 21 but that way was through middle of Bristol a city I don't know in a camper that we had not driven before!!!! So we went for the easy/lazy option!!

Sarah-Lou
This is really helpful..Thanks!! It proves my point (to a bloke who is ALWAYS right) that he should have followed the satNav last year!! (even though in the end,I'm glad we camped where we did and not where we intended! ha!) We'll be travelling on the Tuesday, leaving home between 9-10am

The_Wiseman
Last year I remember there were seperate sat nav codes for both the east and west campervan sites. This year I only see one sat nav code for the carparks in the fine guid - am I missing something? Lats year we relied on the sat nav entirely and worked a treat I'm a bit worried this year that we'll end up going all around the shop to get to the West campervan site. Help!
