Just Returned!

Having just come back from Wales after the Big Weekend festival, I can firmly and strongly recommend What Would Jesus Drive? as a band to play Reading/Leeds. Lovely stuff.

Not just any band; a ShockTK band.

I was in the BBC Introducing tent with about 7 or 8 people and it was as stark contrast to half of the other shit on that day. MGMT were pretty good but sounded shite, and Ellie Goulding was fantastic.

Anybody else on this forum go? Your thoughts?

watched a few bands on the site... biffy were good & so were lostprophets... although Jared Leto looked like a tw@t with that mohican for 30STM. haven't watched anything else though.

When I went to big weekend in maidstone zane lowes set was one of my highlights he was brilliant got the crowd going amazingly he didnt play any of that 'dub bullox' it wernt realy around then.

Saw sub focus at a festival a few years back they are great live

Enjoyed myself personally. MGMT were surprisingly good. Faithless were mindblowing. Biffy ruled supreme. Outdoor stage was a cracker and would love some good DJs at Reading, as opposed to the usual stuff in the Dance. One of the best weekend's i've done in a long time. Although yes, loads of the artists just dreadful.

Vampire were good, just always very similar feelgood. Better than what Pendulum must hvae been offering.

The thing with MGMT was - they just more or less stood around onstage as the vocalist mumbled inaudible bass-notes into the microphone. The only animated one was their lead guitarst/keyboardist who looked like Sebastien Tellier:

That's really odd, they're a local band for me, and I know one of them through mutual friends, and from other bands he's been in. Not a bad sound tbh, and I haven't seen them live yet. Will have to check them out...
