pink_triangle
Is anyone going to be effected by the boundary changes at the next election? They are abolishing our constituency and replacing it with one spreading 3 counties, absolute madness!

eFestivals
Is anyone going to be effected by the boundary changes at the next election? They are abolishing our constituency and replacing it with one spreading 3 counties, absolute madness! Who cares? It's all meaningless bollocks. The stated rationale for the changes is that there's too many MPs on the govts payroll, so 50 MPs are going to be abolished to save money. Fair enough in isolation, I guess. Yet this is a proposal by the same Prime Minister who immediately after getting elected appointed well over 100 new 'Lords' to the House of Lords, who will cost the country more money than the removal of 50 MPs will save. And so it's not the thing that's claimed for it, and is a tory attempt to manipulate 'democracy' in their favour. I'm still in favour of getting all 650 of them, and lining them up against the wall to be shot. The amount of blatant corruption the vast majority are responsible for in one way or another is beyond correction with anything less.

eFestivals
Really? Is that true? I would have thought the cost of running 50 constituencies along with their associated MPs outweighs the cost of 100 extra lords. the expenses for MPs and Lords outstrips the wages for MPs by a long shot. jacketspud
Yes shes been on twitter going on about people taking her "up the stink tube". Poor woman. Shes on the brink of suicide. Was on the Late Late Show (Irish chat show) a few weeks back and was clearly on meds or something. Its not going to end well. This is her about two years ago. The Nal
Im coming to defend Sinead - I had a look at the late late show and she appears to me to be perfectly fine and far from crazy or suicidal. She may well be on mediction - if she has fibromyalgia (like me) many are but she diddnt appear to be on anything too strong and Im sorry that shes not continued to age gracefully enough for many of you , or keep her weight down enough for you to contemplate shagging her. If she has fibro then shes actually looking pretty good. I like celebs that go with the flow and if you have an illness to contend with your main aim is just trying to stay healthy enough. jacketspud
Her Hair diddnt look like that in the interview - shes was looking pretty good - why dont you have a look?- so its just because of her hair that people dont find her attractive? - well shes been through plenty of haircuts. The reason why is I looked it up to see if any celebs had fibromyalgia and she popped up. I dont do twitter but I will look into it further - she says talking about sex is taboo for both men and women still and so I guess from what you are saying shes right? jacketspud
well - from what I can gather - I think it was done as bit of a joke - thats the way I see it - i dont get the "nutter" statement and the fact that she has bi polar too makes it more offensive to me. Also because of the celebrity thing - it was also done maybe for a publicity stunt? Still dont see it as having the markings of a deranged being. sifi
This all a bit too judgemental for my liking. And it seems to be a bit too focused on her sexual preferences. Some of the other things she said were far more interesting. For example, she says she likes very hairy men. I'm fairly hirstute myself, but I've not got any growing on my back thankfully. Kowalski
Verdict in the Amanda Knox appeal due at 20.30 tonight. Not quite sure how its going to go. The DNA evidence appears to have been torn to shreds during the appeal, but the two of them acting guilty in the days after the murder, so fuck knows why's going to happen. As her parents said today, the sad death of Meredith Kercher seems to have been lost in all the media hype surrounding the appeal.

Gre
BBC cuts announced - to be honest it doesn't look too bad. Bit sad about the HD channel going, there was some good BBC4 stuff on there, but I suppose it was always going to be a stop-gap before BBC2 HD got going. I have to say I'm impressed that BBC4 will operate with a budget of £54.30, and cbeebies £31.60 though edit; Missed the bit about Radio 4 LW going in the long-term; that's a bit of a downer for cricket (and shipping forecast) fans. Kowalski
I'm okay with some of the cuts but I'd like to see the Government do more to protect the BBC. Its one of our great institutions (if not the greatest) and is largely trusted nationally and greatly respected worldwide. They do need to cut the pay of some of their so-called stars though - they can ditch Graham Norton anytime they like! It worries me that the continued squeezing of the BBC is reducing some quality output (e.g. ditching half the F1 coverage is a terrible idea). And things like the BBC Natural History Unit should be untouchable IMHO. Personally, I don't have a problem with the licence fee going up at the rate of inflation every year (that's if the rate of inflation is positive!). EDIT: Just noticed the red button service will be down to one stream after London 2012 - that's rubbish! :-( Edited October 6, 2011 by Kowalski
