In fairness, at least three people were slagging that song off at the time, whilst heaping praise on countries such as Belgium, Turkey, tax-robbing Iceland, and Azerbaijan.

And my initial prediction was Russia "10th by default", and they came eleventh. I think that's quite good going.

I just think Britain's problem is that we consistantly pick lame, 80's style, typically Eurovision-y songs, when everyone else is doing sort of, proper music. It's ridiculous.

Oh, and I done a bit of research, and Armenia, Azerbaijian and Georgia are 100% in Europe.

The myth that they aren't, in the case of Azerbaijan more-so, came from old racial, political and religous prejudices. They were then categorised as Euroasia, which meant they weren't part of Europe or Asia but inbetween, and ofcourse having a silly tiny continent on its own because of prejudice is wrong, they are now again (and realy always have been) part of Europe.

Germany's song was quite different to the others on offer, think that was the major factor there. Definite stand out.

One another note, that German song was released just before Eurovision and was selling exceptionally well (broke a few download records for German artists) and had went Gold 3 times before the contest began over the European continent.

Real surprise it won eh... !!!
