Has anyone been before and will anyone be going this year?

I went last year and I'm going again this year.

We get contractors tickets though becasue of relations with the traffic management team for the event, which means we don't pay but we don't pitch with the majority of people so I can't tell you too much about the camping side of things. It's great fun for everybody though really. It's marketed as a family festival but it's just as suitable for a younger audience. I'm 18 and last year it pretty much consisted of lounging about in the day watching the smaller indie bands, then going to the electronic tents at night to see the electro/dnb/dubstep DJs. It's a very relaxed festival and a lot different to the larger UK festivals, but good nontheless. I must say I think the price is a little steep this year, but other than that. There's a great selection of food and drink, including some interesting cocktail bars that I'll be having a look at this year.

Thanks No never been, we were looking for a festival to take our 5 year old son to and I stumbled across camp bestival, the website makes it look amazing so much for kids to do. we're in our 40's and been doing Glastonbury and Leeds for over ten years so this isa bit of a big step going somewhere new Whilst typing this best mate has just text to say she will forgo global gathering and bring family to camp Bestival

four of us went last year (no kids). It was great fun, and the line up was also pretty good. This year though the line-up really lets it down.

we went last year some friends who had kids, and some who didnt. We were drawn by a lineup which was excellent for the size of the thing.

It was ok, beautifully laid out site on equally beautiful grounds.

I wouldn't perosnally go again, because their were far too many kids for me to cope with. I could well understand why for family's (and even to a certain extent those not with kids) would have a great time and return again and again - but for me the atmosphere of the festival was just a bit too kiddy orientated and not quite for me.

having re-read your situation, I'd actually recomment - if you're looking for a chill out and your used to those bigguns - this will be ideal.

And definitely, much much much better than Global Gathering in my opinion - which is a dump, full of muppets who have eaten far too many pills and are too wrecked to know how badly they've been ripped off.
