You're opinion's fair enough

But I've avoided commenting on the Guns N' Roses thread because I get that people actually want to talk about them positively even though I can't stand them

The majority of people on the Blink thread are Blink fans so you're never gonna win and it just makes you look overly opinionated and is boring and annoying a fair few people

And back to the OP

As long as they get all their big songs in as well as one or two new ones I'll be happy

Somebody asked for a guess at their what their setlist might be and, like you, I've basically said that it doesn't matter what they shove on so long as they play their handful of hits - because those 3 maybe 4 songs are the only songs that matter to your every day casual listener. The others are insignificant.

The same can be said about guns n roses though.

A large portion of the crowd wont care what is played as long as they shove on their handful of hits. sweet child of mine, welcome to the jungle, paradise city and november rain are the only songs that matter to your every day casual listener.

Well both bands have had their day.

The casual listener will only kow a handful of their songs.

At least Blink have their original lineup

But yea anyway that would be a big can'o'worms.

You may just have to accept that regardless of your personal taste many people are looking forward to Blink. And also many people couldnt give a toss about guns n roses.

I for one cant wait to see both, and am slightly less bothered about arcade fire.

This thread is so stupid. Most of these arguments for either side are just generic things that can be applied to any band that exists. Yeah Blink do have a signature song, as do most bands. I could say exactly the same things about Guns N Roses, that most people have only heard Welcome to the Jungle, Paradise City and Sweet Child O Mine, or Arcade Fire could just play a 90 minute version of Wake Up and most of the crowd would be none the wiser etc. It's a bit rich to say Blink have done nothing for 10 years yet then in the same paragraph suggest they're replaced with Soundgarden.

To me, Blink 182 should have the spot Faith No More had last year - and that's me conceding a lot considering I think Faith No More are one of the best bands to have ever existed.

Ignoring all the crap & going back to the topic title... I'd like to predict the whole set list to be pre enema of the state, just to confuse the heaps of children I'll be pushing out of my way to get to the front, but alas... They will play proberbly nothing from Cheshire Cat, maybe one or two from Dude Ranch & the rest a mix of enema, take off your pants & jacket & the self titled pile of crap (comparitively speaking with the rest of their material). Still, whatever they play, it's Blink... & i'll be there!

One thing I will give blink credit for is im sure they will include all their hits. To me chillis and smashing pumpkins did not play festival friendly sets when they headlined which I thought was disappoitning.

However forgetting about hardcore fans guns n roses fans will be better known to your average festival goer because they have sold far far more albums in the uk than blink 182 which means their other songs have been heard by far more people.
