Roadworks A9

We are leaving Dundee at 7am, hoping to get to Rockness by 11am but have heard that there are some bad roadworks on way up, anyone been up there lately and know the full scale of them?

There's a fair amount of roadworks near Tomatin at the moment, you will definitely get delayed.

We're driving up on Thursday up the east side of Loch Ness (B852) past Dores and the festival site.

I take it this road will be open on Thursday? Anyone know?

ah well, that definitely means i'm not going. plus i've just agreed to do something at my work on monday morning so that's my plan down the swanny. 100 odd quid saved though

I'm not sure if this will affect anyone..

But the train derailing from Glasgow to Oban might affect the roads in some way? Perhaps it might be worth checking out before driving North.

Perth to Inverness was rife with roadworks last Friday, it really was quite bad

Although i was told most of it should be down by this Thursday...

People coming from Aberdeen direction may also get a bit delayed, nothing too drastic like but there is construction at Fochabers/Mostodloch where there is a 30mph limit. Saying that, depending who is on front of you you could just fly through at normal pace.

dundee to inverness = no more than 3 hours even with the roadworks. Just bear in mind you will be passing through rush hour, should be not too bad tho.

by using train from london you dont have to change to get to inverness and free wireless to be on the forums... dislike the journey majorly though!

i think it takes about 8 hours from London to Inverness. I know i leave surrey at 9:30am and i get into aviemore at 7:30pm

50 seater leaving Kilmarnock at 6am so hopefully be up nice and early. Bit too early if you ask me, cant even get a roll to soak up the early morning booze at that time!

you will be delayed here, but only by 10-20 mins

wasnt much else other week that i was up, more likely the slower traffic will do you time wise.

4 hrs dundee - dores is enough, and remember, if u delayed so everyone else
