Leeds train travel

The shuttle bus stops will be signposted from the Railway Stations and Coach Station.

www.geldardscoaches.co.uk are operating the shuttle service during the Leeds Festival.

There is plenty of capacity on the buses for all of your stuff and you will not have to walk far to the campsites onsite from the bus station nor will you have to walk far from the Railway Station / Coach Station to the bus stop.

The shuttle bus service will also run to and from the Tesco Extra supermarket at Seacroft so that you can go and stock up on essentials although there is also a supermarket onsite selling everything you might need. Consider using the shuttle bus to get to and from Tescos if you need to go there as it is likely to be much quicker and easier than leaving the site with your car and coming back in again, especially all day Thursday.

Using public transport and the shuttle bus is by far the best way to arrive at Leeds Festival. The shuttle buses get you nearer to a festival entrance than any other means of arriving onsite, they run regularly, the operation should be smooth and hassle free and there will be enough shuttle buses to meet the demand.

The shuttle buses will drop you off very close to the railway station or bus station and you will not have to queue as long to get on a shuttle bus as you would in a car to get to or leave the car park. Plus you can make friends on the way, enjoy a drink and feel good about your reduced impact on the environment and the fact that a part of your fare is being donated to charity!

The fares for this year's shuttle bus service are being held at the same price as last year to encourage you to use it. The journey time from Leeds to Bramham Park is around 45 minutes.

The shuttle bus fares are:

£4.50 single from Leeds Railway / Coach Station to Bramham Park

£8.50 open return from Leeds Railway / Coach Station or York to / from Bramham Park (£8 if booked in advance)

£6 cheap day return from Leeds Railway / Coach Station to / from Bramham Park

£17 multi-journey wristband - as many journeys as you like to any of the destinations from Wednesday to Monday.

£4 return to Tescos.

You can buy tickets on the bus or at the bus station onsite at Yellow Gate or you can book on 0113 263 9491 (office hours)

SHUTTLE BUS SERVICES SUMMARY

Service X28 will start and finish at Leeds City Bus Station calling at Sovereign Street for Leeds Rail Station. Returning journeys will call at Sovereign Street first then the Bus Station.

Service X29 will run between the Bramham and Tescos at Seacroft.

Service X30 will run between York and the festival site.

I'm pissed off because I thought I could actually help someone and the guy above nailed it :P

But yeh mate basically, personal opinion, after doing it last year was, the only inconvenience is on the actual train it can be awkward, make sure you get on there first, try and get on a seat with a table, much more room. Last year we booked our train with Transpennine Express, coming from Liverpool. It was good because we could go on any train from a certain train, and return on any train as well. We had thought we wouldn't leave on the Monday until like 1pm, but we ended up not sleeping on the Sunday night and were packed up to go by half 10 so an early dart was good.

The other inconvience other than seating was trecking with your stuff. Although it's only a short distance, it can be a pain carrying tent bags and alcohol etc. The buses are like double decker school buses with not much legroom, and again they get pretty packed, your lucky though, if you get first on. It's about 20minutes on that bus, and they come constantly, so if you miss it they fill up the next one straight away.

The trip to Tesco is also helpful to relieve yourself if your a "nervous pooer" - to quote Elliot from Scrubs.
