Musicsafe earplugs

Has anyone got any experience of using Musicsafe earplugs at festivals?

I recently bought some of these earplugs because I'm getting increasingly worried about the ringing in my ears after a gig or night in a club. I've only worn them to 1 gig so far and ended up taking them out after a couple of songs because all they seemed to do was amplify the people talking behind me!

dontlosethemusic.com were there at the right of the pyramid stage last year I think they were handing out some form of ear protection.

I'm an Audiologist - Unfortunatley unless you want to spend a lot of money they will interfere with the quality of sound from music, however if you have tinnitus I would highly recommend wearing them.

I was worried about my childrens (12 and 10 year olds ) hearing, they would not even consider the kids ear muffs just looked at me as if I was insane and laughed so went on ebay and bought 20 pairs of factory sound ear plugs all bright colours and sealed in packs of two for ÂŁ3.00. something is better thatn nothin at all. ;)

NOT LONG NOW :lol::lol::lol:

I have ER20s as well, they also come in kids' sizes. they are expensive - ÂŁ10 a pair - but they do the job and are worth it as i really don't want to go deaf! Compared to my friends who've nver bothered, my hearing is noticibly a lot better.

Yeah, they do hand out free earplugs next to the Pyramid stage - they're the small foam ones. ER20s don't muffle the sound though, so you can still hear everything really clearly. And they're better for your ears.

I have some of these ACS ones: http://www.hearingprotection.co.uk/index.p...&Itemid=126

I love them.

I found myself at a couple of gigs where I thought the sound was terrible -- as if the amps was distorting or a speaker cone was torn. So distorted that I could hardly make out any pitch, and certainly couldn't understand lyrics; just a mush that throbbed with a beat. Then I put my fingers in my ears, and discovered that all the clarity of the sound came back. So I started using earplugs.

Foam earplugs work, but they let more bass through than they do treble.

The ACS ones are ÂŁ14, they'll last forever, and have pretty flat effect on the frequencies. Marvellous.

BTW, I learned something the other week - I went to a Holy Fvck gig in Oxford and stupidly forgot my earplugs. I asked at the bar if they had any, and they gave me some for nowt. Worth knowing.
