signing on at Glasto...

hi all

Anyone had any experience of signing on during the festival? My day falls the wednesday of the fest; I've been told I have to present myself at the nearest job centre (i.e.Wells).

Is that right? Do people really leave the festival site to go and sign on in Wells, if their day happens to fall during the festival?!

Any advice greatly appreciated. I really don't fancy trying to get off and back on site again on weds (we were planning to arrive tuesday night, with responsibilities to pitch up for the rest of our group....)

has anyone done this before and is it easy enough?

nah, don't bother with that it would be madness.

you are allowed to go on holiday in the country for two weeks a year, so simply go the Job centrre tell them you will be on holiday over the period you are away fill in a couple of forms, then sign on when you return, v.simple.

I had the same problem.

I spoke to the job centre and they said it was fine and all I needed to do was fill in a holiday form.

thats what i did!! they said as it was in the UK i had to present myself at the nearest job centre and sign on there instead.

do i need to go back and tell them that they are wrong?

my day was the wednesday aswell the dole wouldnt let me sign on early and i was hoping to get my money on the saturday of the festival .get a holiday form and tell them to f**kin shove it up their arses the pricks ,

In fairness if you're wanting payment you can't tell them to shove anything anywhere.

In fairness if you're wanting payment you can't tell them to shove anything anywhere. When on JobSeekers your 'job' is to look for employment and if you want a holiday from said job it's only right to ask/ negotiate / fill in the appropriate forms just as you would if you were working.

all i was saying is they didnt tell him about holiday forms and to tell him to go to the nearest job centre to sign thats bollocks .do you work in the dole
