As lots of people have mentioned they'd like it, the option is now available to have the forums advert-free, at the cost of £18 per year.

To automatically subscribe yourself to this option, just click here:-

/index.php?app=subscriptions">http://www.efestivals.co.uk/forums/index.php?app=subscriptions

(I've not been able to test this as I can't make payments to myself via PayPal - if there's any problems for any person doing this, please let me know and I'll look into it asap).

Damn, I thought it had stopped. :(

I've got someone looking into this, and hopefully they'll pin it down and make it stop.

However, the problem is ultimately caused by Microsoft not implementing the proper version of javascript but their own customised version, so it might get stopped only to re-occur with the next update for windows (as that's been the situation in the past).

Stop whinning and questioning, its obviously your fault and you probably know f**k all about anything ;);)

How bitter and twisted are you going to get Chris?

Just because you like to talk know-nothing bollox, it doesn't mean others are. Grow up.

Are you man enough to admit that you've been talking know-nothing crap, or are you going to keep up the pretence of cleverness that is actually a clear statement of ignorance to those with better technical knowledge than you possess?

I'm sorry but you haven't explained why this wasn't beta-tested first to iron out all the bugs. For somebody who apparently has 15 years of experience of website design, I get the feeling that it was more a case of "I couldn't be arsed" and people will just put up with it while you fix it at your own pace.

More bollox. You've had the explanation given to you personally. It was because the timings of things were outside of my control.

It was tested. The only real test is a real life one.

So again...

1. Why didn't you run this on a cloned box?

2. Why didn't you ask people to test it thus finding out whether or not the new design was well recieved or an improvement?

3, Why didn't you test it on the popular browsers with the popular page resolutions (you can get this information from simple webstats in case you didn't know)?

You going to give explanations to the above questions or are you to busy right now??

1. it did.

2. Users don't understand why the change was necessary.

3. it was.

The only real test is a real life one. Unfortunately, in this instance, the real life test has discovered more issues than I'd hoped would be the case.

However, many of the supposed issues raised by people here are not issues anything to do with the upgrade.

You and the others that don't like the adverts that are a necessity for these forums is not one of the issues.

So what issues do you actually have, outside of you wanting to tell me from your position of ignorance that I've f**ked up? You not liking the change is not an issue, apart from for you.

Do you have any valid point to raise taking things forwards?

Thought not.

So no explanations then because you basically consider your users, your bread and butter to be too stupid LMAO

No, I consider them to view things only from their perspective, and not from any perspective that includes the necessity of the business being able to provide the forums for there to be forums.

You personally have shown this is the case.

You have personally shown that *some* users are that stupid.

Its my turn for abuse because I disagree.

No, it's your "turn" for abuse because you're talking ignorant bollox, just as you have in the past

Prove to me that you're not talking ignorant bollox by showing me an example of the wonderful firewall which you say would have stopped the hack attack on the server a few weeks ago.

I keep on asking you to show it to me, but you never do. There's a reason for that, but as reason you can't bring yourself to say. And that's of course because you know you're talking ignorant bollox, but you'll spout it anyway.

FFS, it's like dealing with a 6 year old.

fair play to you Neil...a record 21 java script errors on one page this morning, but you sorted that out pronto.

I'll get used to the new lay out...perhaps needs a few tweaks, but functions as a message board fine (without the script errors!)

Like everything else you rant discuss on here, you just don't f**king listen do you, so for the last time there are such things as.....

Advanced Behavioral Learning Web Application Firewalls

...which can and do monitor Port 80 for suspicious activity

when does an attack via what is normal usage fall within that?

It doesn't. As I have repeated many times and you refuse to take in, the only firewall which could have stopped that attack would have been one that also stopped the website doing what it was designed to be doing.

These are of course mainly designed for Windows, howevever you use the cheap, opps sorry I mean FREE option of Linux and no doubt any number of free Linux aplications. And in this particular case you admitted that there was a bug in your chosen software. So not only can you get firewall software to protect Port 80, you can of course also get reliable software which isn't open to hacking, especially when you operate a website encouraging the public to participate and infecting a number of them in the process. But then that was everyone elses fault because you could NEVER admit to calpability.

There is no such thing as "reliable software which isn't open to hacking", there is only software where the holes haven't been found as yet. As Microsoft and every other software company get to find out on a daily basis.

And guess what? The script that was used to make that attack was a script that the holes hadn't been found in until the day of the attack on efests. Unfortunately, efests was one of the first places to suffer that attack via that method, so unless I was psychic and able to know the attackers mind before he attacked, there was absolutely nothing which could have been done to avoid it short of not having the functionality provided by that script on efests in the first place.

Is Bill Gates personally responsible for all attacks on Microsoft software? Then why do you think it's different for me.

So, what you've again shown is that you only talk worthless and ignorant bollox. Go give your ignorant abuse to Bill Gates for a few days, and give me a few days off.
