Clairobelle
I'm a long time lurker so firstly I'd like to say Hi I'm getting together my last few purchases and was wondering what kinda bags you carry your "essentials" around in on site? P.S. Sooo excited i could do a little wee (and yes, it does need to be big enough to carry my shee wee too haha)
strolling wanderer
Depends on your definition of essentials. If that includes several tinnies or a plastic bottle of mixed spirit or wine, then you'll need something sturdy like a medium sized backpack. However if you don't carry around your own drink supply then a small Camelpac type thing will do for odds and ends and a waterproof.

HurrahBrother
I've used one of those chinese 'messenger bags" from an army surplus shop, turns into a mini pack pack and has hanging points for me to clip my poncho roll to. Lacks internal pockets though. If you need a larger bag, from army surplus look at the leather lined French bags, good size, also converts to a back pack, made in teh 50's and 60's for carrying lots of ammo for their old bren gun equivilent so very very tough. barkley87
i've got a large drawstring/rucksack type bag. it's big enough to carry lots of stuff in and the drawstrings mean it's difficult for someone to pick-pocket you and you can feel if they're trying to. it's velvet and multi-coloured and i actually bought it from the festival last year. During Blur a couple behind me actually commented on how nice it was
HurrahBrother
The cloth bags free with the guardian are also good. You can undo the knots on one side and re do them so in a way that you can wear it across your back/shoulders like a banodlier bag than a rucksack
Lilmiz
I have bought one of these as the one i took last year was a little small: Gola Alba Bag It is brill, large enough for all your bits and pieces but not too huge! Has a front pocket with a zip for easy access (tissues and handwash stash) Has a net inside pocket across the width of the bag as well as 2 large slip pockets (big enough to fit a beer or bottle of water) and an inside zip pocket. Seems pretty waterproof although it's not going to rain this year so doesn't matter!! As i have only just bought it i haven't tried it out at Glasto yet although took it to the beach the other day and was pretty comfy and held all i needed! LusciousLucy
Always pack a carabina or S hook to be able to hang the bags up in the toilets or on crash barriers if at front for dancing.
phillyfaddle
This one, in black, from M&S has served me very well for the past few years: http://www.marksandspencer.com/Front-Pocket-Cross-Body-Bag/dp/B000XR4HDG?ie=UTF8&qid=1276693549&categoryNodeID=42967030&ref=sr_1_8&page=1&node=42967030&sr=1-8&mnSBrand=core&_encoding=UTF8&rh=n%3A42967030%2Ck%3Abags%2Cp_36%3AGBP5-GBP9.99 Much less bulky than a day sack, but big enough for all your essentials. It's also only 8 quid. BARGAIN.
