Front Row Camping

must say when i was 'clearing' out front row and vip camping yesterday all the ppl i spoke to were polite and courteous, even the odd couples i had to wake up at noon to remind them to get up, pack and head off.

the wake up bit is to make sure no one is still comatosed when staff are off the site.

still disapointing about the number of tents left, some very expensive ones too.

I loved Front Row due to having plenty of space and great toilets all weekend. Great relaxed atmosphere, some great folk - even the few numpties were pretty harmless. I would definitely welcome it back next year although if it does return I think it will be busier next year as people will know to prepare for it and get sorted. One of our mates never had a Front Row ticket and we had no problem obtaining a wristband for him. Heard a couple of the usual bad stories in the commoners camp from other folk and definitely glad we were in the Front Row section.

We had to wait about at the Box Office (carpark entrance) too due to needing to change tickets. Went to ask about it, the girl had to radio Jim King to confirm it, then we had to wait on some guy coming up to swap tickets.

Eventually we just got told to go to the wristband exchange and ask for Adam who would ensure we got Front Row camping bands, which we did easily enough there.

But overall, seems to be a lack of communication which should have been sorted out as it's not as if Jim King had no idea there would be issues.. he was told about it! (though he did apologise over the radio)

i have mixed feeling on this.. the whole thing was very poorly organised and there was a major lack of communication between the festival bosses and their staff.

it was nice having loads of space and never having to queue for a toilet, but space has never really been an issue at rockness.. think it should still just be first come first served, rockness campsite is always quite spacious anyway.. and anyone who wants to camp in a specific area can just get there early.

Well the front row camping looked really quiet from where we were close to the bottom at yellow. We actually had less of a walk to the festival arena. A couple of us took a wander in to front row and VIP on the Saturday and the atmosphere reminded me of the red quiet campsite when you pass through it on your way home on Monday!

We were lucky enough to get resident bands this year but would still rather camp with "the commoners" as so many of the "front rowers" have dubbed people in yellow and meet new people that are up for partying to all hours! Only bit of trouble we had all weekend was some drunken bam falling into tents on Monday morning. Most of them were empty by that point though.

I never bothered as not all my mates had one, looked pretty quiet, although I don't see the point in having VIP and front row - surely they are much the same. They were giving them out from the ticket desk to anyone with a early bird whithout having to que at the box office tho which is not what they said before hand.

I just think it was ridiculous when we asked for Front Row passes they told us they didn't have alot left, yet when we actually got to Front Row it was virtually empty.

I enjoyed having the extra space but I think next year they should just scrap it.

We were camped just on the other side of the fence in VIP & I used the front row toilets when the Q for the VIP was really long on the Saturday morning. I must say I've never set foot in a cleaner portaloo.

The VIP was well worth the extra anyway, not just for the bogs (which were kept in great nick all weekend by the way, no zoomers sticking jumpers down pipes this year) but for the general atmosphere & banter all weekend. Got to know everyone within a 5 tent radius just about. Even bumped into the folk I was camped next to last year.

With the RBS royalties discount it was £140 well spent :D

I had front row, but never camped there due to some others in our group not having front row.

Still, it was nice to have the front row band, as I got to go in and see all the efest front row'ers and also to use their amazingly quiet and spotlessly clean toilets.

It kinda made it almost a VIP area. What were the advantages of VIP this year? Just better parking??
