If a ref ever gets this type of incident wrong, believe you me we'll hear about it on here.

Something like:

Walcott takes a pen for Arsenal and scores after hitting the post - ref's fault for giving it, but then again - there might not be a camera angle that shows the keeper getting the slightest touch on the ball before it struck the post.

Rooney takes a pen for Man Utd and scores after hitting the post - dirty cheating bastard.

So Raul leaves Madrid today. Old school. We'll see/have seen a few one club legends over the last 20 odd years finish up. Raul, Guti, Del Piero, Giggs, Scholes, Red Nev, Gerrard (?), Carragher.

In these mega tv money times its all the more impressive and none more impressive than Paolo Maldini. Made his debut in 1985, aged 16, and retired 25 seasons later, aged 40 after 902 games for Milan. He saw 13 managers come and go, won 7 leagues, and 5 champions leagues (played in 8 CL finals  ).

Fair play to Raul, restores faith in the game when you see legends like that. Although I never thought he was THAT great.

My point was its not as easy to stay in the first team at these clubs, and to do it for so long is an amazing achievement. Theres a lad who has played down in my local Saturday league team for 20 years, but Id hardly class him up there with Maldini. Although Im sure he'd drink Paolo under the table.

Willie Miller played for Aberdeen for 18 years if that makes you feel any better?

And Balotelli off to Citeh it seems. 35 million euro. Lot of money for an unproven player with a bad attitude. So thats Balotelli, Adebayor, Tevez, Robinho and Bellamy up front. Has there ever been a bigger "c**t per blade of grass" ratio that that at a club - ever?

That said - mighty impressive.

Mankini knows him better than most as a player I guess, must think he can get the best out of him. It is a frightening forward line that they're putting together though, if a might ego-centric. Before you say too much about their "c**t per blade of grass" ratio don't be forgetting that until recently your boys could have Neville, Evra, Nani and Ronaldo on the pitch all at once.
