eFestivals
Ozil's 1/5 to come to Utd on Skybet. 9/4 on Paddy Power (though Bayern's 15/8). Could be just bookies covering themselves after betting interest though. Bookies odds are NOT much related to the chance of something happening, they're related to the bets placed on that thing happening. But I have to laugh at you Utd-er's not letting go of the dream that you have Shitty's level of money. I wonder if you'll manage to lose it after they've been beating you in the table for several years - which is very definitely going to happen, and happen soon. No doubt you'll still be banging on about the 30-odd years they went without a trophy while they're waving the Prem trophy in your face.

The Nal
Don't worry - I'm sure that if there's no mention of it for a good 5 minutes, you'll be right here in a flash to remind them. Edited July 29, 2010 by The Nal

The Nal
Anyway, see Maradonas quote on whoever the new manager is: "Whoever takes over, he has to know treason is close." He likes his drama.

ralph250
They should get rid of de laet, there is no way he is man utd quality. To be honest I dont think he would stand out in the championship.

pink_triangle
Can't really see him being more of a utility man. He's done ok sometimes. Still only 21 and his versatality might keep him in the reckoning. Bit superfluous at the moment with O'Shea around and if can keep Fabio and Brown fit; but in his favour whilst he's 5th choice now, Neville will soon be off, Brown's 31 in Oct, O'shea and Evra turn 30 next spring. Obviously they ain't gonna be put to sleep yet, but in a couple of years we could find ourselves pretty short numbers wise in the fullback position. Not being homegrown could well cost him though. The Nal
It really is one of the sweetest of ironies that Manyoo find themselves in this position financially. With Bacon Face patting the Glazers on the back this week and Citeh flinging cash at anything with two legs it makes me laugh it really does. I hope the Tramp is still in charge when Citeh (as you say) inevitably win the league. Never mind the Beeb, he won't talk to any media outlet after that. Chortle. eFestivals
Yep, really silly post from Neil about Utd and football in general (yet again). Where have Utd fans said they have Citehs money? And Ralph clearly said it could be just the bookies covering themselves too. Do you actually read posts before you post utter nonsense? Edit: You actually had Ralphs quote in your post!! Did the players that ralph named pass you by, in the way they didn't pass me by? Utd can't afford any of them, not one. Which was the point I was making to ralph, the man who believes that the value of depreciating players gets paid back to the club in cash in some mysterious way. eFestivals
Why the wink, I've said that above. It's a rye smile. One day you'll get it, don't worry. The rest isn't worth replying to. Does the level of accuracy scare you or something?
eFestivals
the fact the team you follow .... are in a worse financial state than anyone except of course the club whose debts are even more above their club's true value than is the case with Liverpool. You might know them. Like Liverpool, they're a club from near to Manchester too - perhaps you've heard of them? Or has your interest in your national football league overwhelmed your glory hunting days?

Langdale Wolf
I vote we have a seperate thread about the finances of the top 4 clubs. Because it seems to be mentioned on EVERY sodding page even though the subject has been done to death again and again and again. It's like the efestivals equivalent of 'Diana - What REALLY happened - in this weekend's Mail on Sunday magazine'.

eFestivals
Utds debts are 700m, the club, as valued by people in the know last week, Forbes - ie not you - valued it at 1.2B. the most valuable sports club in the world. Liverpools debt is 500m with an estimated value, again, not valued by you, of 704m. Dont get your point. But thats hardly a surprise. Utd's debts - including everything rather than being selective and using creative accounting - are £900M+. The assets of the club are less than £700M. The standard commercial valuation - based on the return on investment an average investor would expect - is about £550M. That Forbes valuation is one of vanity value. In the real world - on the basis of winding up the businesses today and cashing everything in - Liverpool are sitting well pretty compared to Utd. That's the point. Real numbers, and not vanity ones. eFestivals
Ralph posted about the homegrown rule, players Utd are linked with and bookies odds. Neil and Wooderson come on and post about the same thing - again! Linked with by who? At the end of the day, the link is one that's only coming from hopeful Utd fans. I was simply separating dreaming from reality. Just like with all the world cup bollox - where my own predictions were far closer to the reality than so many of the self-proclaimed 'experts' here (I've avoided gloating till now, but perhaps I should do it regularly, just to keep a few peeps in their rightful place rather than their imagined place?) - come back and tell me I'm wrong when those dreams become reality. On 1st Sept, I can do some more gloating. If you keep being the same mindless prick I will, and regularly. eFestivals
I was only commenting on the players we've been linked with as was I. Why is it that you're permitted your opinion on them, but I'm not? I answered where it comes from, to which no reply, so in case you missed it. No, you have never said where this mysterious cash comes from to cover a player's depreciation. That's because you cannot, because it doesn't happen. What I think you were trying to say - I chose not to put words in your mouth, instead pointing out the foolishness of what you were saying - but got completely wrong is that Utd's losses look worse on paper than is the trading reality, because of player depreciation being written into the accounts. But at the end of the day, it's still losses at the rate the accounts say.
