UEFA make them have 1 media day/press conference for the CL final which they have to do and is controlled by them. It would be bit extreme if UEFA make them do a daily press conference for it in the run up.

I think he means just their press conference.

To be honest it wasn't a nasty question aimed at Giggs' injuction, it just the guy saying Giggs in the most experienced CL player they have and how important he is for the match. It might of been an attempt to get some sought of soundbite from him about Giggs but it's pretty much the same standard boring questions that gets asked all the time.

Even for a Sun/'Arry article thats exceptionally poor. If that took him more than five minutes to write he should be f**king ashamed of himself.

The next England manager, writing for the most popular newspaper, ahead of the biggest game of the year. FFS.

Don't give up the day job Harold.

when asked who he'd prefer, he said - Some1 with a bit of ambition who wont insult the 'idiots' who pay his wages, and preferably doesn't have a tax evasion trial soon.

but yeah, he has done great. i reckon they could do worse than to bring someone else in to push them on further. who that is, i dunno.

any rational justification? from an outsiders perspective he's done wonders for the club.

Wonders? You're having a laugh.

What he's done is got them performing at the level they should have been performing at, given the money spunked on the squad. He's not had them over-perform, he's simply managed to get them doing what they should have been doing anyway.

But along with that, he's completely screwed their chances of any further progression by his death or glory tactics in the chumps which has cost them any chance they might have had of being in the chumps next season. The only way from here is downwards.

True yeah, the fact that they were bottom when he took over isnt comparable to his "success" there. Spurs have always spent cash, and so has Harry. 5th or 6th in the prem is a minimum requirement for that squad, under any manager.

Still, the death or glory approach makes the games interesting to watch but if it was any of the other top clubs the manager would be crucified.

to be fair to 'Arry, he *HAS* managed to get them playing as they should have been anyway, which is more than the previous managers managed to do.

When he took over that was one hell of an expensive squad. I can't remember the exact details now, but I remember looking it up to post in the footie thread here at that time, and Spurs net spending for the last ten years or so was very much around the level of Liverpool's. As I said, I can't be sure now, but I think Spurs had spent a touch more.

It's not like the squad has got any cheaper since 'Arry took over, but he has kicked out some of the very expensive slackers (Bentley is one that comes to mind).

So he's defo been an improvement for Spurs, but has still only managed to put them where they should be.

I find the funniest claim in the redknapp article the one that messi and rooney are equal in terms of shooting when messi has averaged 0.87 goals per game compared to rooneys 0.52 per game.

As for redknapp he has done a solid job at spurs but his management style that if you have motivation, then you dont need tactics is outdated and gets found out at the top level. His tactical naivety will get completely found out at international level, I honestly think he genuinely believes that man for man england are the best team in the world and therefore will just need to turn up to win.

No. Really dont know what to think about it. Barca faves obviously.

Few thoughts...

- Barca might not know what to do with Hernandez.

- Giggs is the only real distibutor from the middle of the park, he needs to get passes away quickly.

- Rooney needs a "cometh the hour, cometh the man" game.

- Carrick needs to play to 150% of his ability

- Valencia needs to bully them

- How DO you stop Messi?! One thing that baffles me though is how he scores so many goals coming from the right, quick one two at the edge of the box, usually with Iniesta, and then slots it in the corner. Why do teams let him get on his left foot in the last third? Literally, 50% of his goals come from that approach.

Talksport were saying that Fergie will play 442 and if they do it will be suicide as they will be outnumbered in midfield. Do they really think Fergie would be that stupid? If he does play with Rooney and Hernandez I think Rooney will play deep making them a 451 when they havent got the ball and 442 when they go forward. Like you say Rooney needs to explode tomorrow night for United to win the game.

I think Fergie is well aware of how they were outnumbered in the middle of the pack last time. Even if the team sheet suggests 442 Rooney is bound to be dropping deep to help the midfield.

Interesting enough there are suggestions that if Barca take the lead and/or Utd need to chase the game he will switch to a 343 formation which they have apparently been working on. Where he will bring on Smalling to partner Vidic and Rio pushing up the full backs into a more attacking position flooding the midfiled.

In many conversations with friends i have said that is the way i would play the game if i was in charge. It is obviously very risky and untested all season for them but i would reckon it would take Barca by surprise and could possibly work. A strong core of defenders then flooding the midfield with fast attacking football and pressing Barca very quickly in defence. Leaving Rooney to dictate play in the final third.
