Newcastle just signed Matveaux... Who just failed/scared the shit out of our doctors in his medical.

Glad to see we've taken the approach Comolli said we would of not signing injury prone players. It's hindered us for years.

At the start of this u21 tournament the media were talking about how this was one of the best group of young players england had taken to a tournament, I looked at the squad and thought it was one of the weakest. I have to say I havent been convinced my original thoughts were wrong. I certainly dont think we are looking at the next golden generation. These players may be hyped in the uk but I dont think there is much of a buzz about these players outside the british shores.

I know being an Everton fan you're probably fairly slow... but you do realise there's a massive difference between signing a player who is injured and one who is injury prone?

Andy Carroll may turn out to be injury prone in the future, but a player who has played over sixty league games in two seasons is probably not yet injury prone...

I'd have thought an Everton fan would know all about injury prone strikers. :P

Apparently its bullshit. Some guy from the Olympics board said GB will have a team but since hes made the comment the Scottish and Welsh FA's have come out again and said they havent given consent.

Although to answer your question I believe individual players are eligible to play without the consent of their FA's.Bale has publicly stated he wants to play.

Bales an interesting one because I would say he is the one player who it could be said is bigger than the national team. Cant think of any huge scotland or northern ireland u21 players that are at that level. On this basis I think many wales, scotland and n.ireland u21 players may be worried about the consequences of playing. Bale may want to play and does hold the cards, however Im not sure he is the type to rock the boat unless he has assurances others will follow.

If it is as rumoured Rednapp manages the team I can see a lot of the non-English British Tottenham players getting in the squad with him talking them into it and as you say Bale holds the cards as I'm not sure the Welsh FA would take any action as I doubt they would not select him for qualifiers.

Technically the Olympics football is U23 and they are allowed to have 3 additional players over 23.

So Bojan is priced at a similar level to connor wickham! Bojan 8 million, Jones 12 million, Henderson 20 million, carroll 32 million. The world has gone mad! I can see why many clubs wont pay the "english" premiium and look abroad.

Alexis Sanchez has been very nieve in not going to city, yes united may have the present/passed glory all to there self's for the last 20years. but there's no doubting city are the next big major European force. i believe he feels he's bigger than the club or he feels like he wants to be made into a superstar. he obviously knows nothing about the blues an doesn't want to. all of witch seems very immature. im sure if you'd of asked world cup winner David Silva a few years ago were he would be plying he's trade in the next few years im sure the last place would of been the city of manchester stadium an look at him now he sparkles with brilliance.

i hope im proved wrong butit seems he will be going to united, because barca have very limited funds an fabregas is there top buy. i cant see barca improving on the very poor bid they made in the first place of around 22mill an a player unless they sell david villa.

Why is Alexis Sanchez naive? City are in so much strife in the dressing room thanks to the egos they keep buying and if you look at Real's Glaticos from a few years ago & Chelsea money doesn't equal success in Europe. At the minute City need to get players who want to play not another player who will throw strops in a few months time. Silvia didn't want to leave Valencia, the club was in so much debt they had to sell players.

Why would Barca sell Villa? He's only just joined last season and don't think any club would pay €40m they did again and they are trying to offload Ibrahimovic.
