Subject to WP, West Ham look to be getting Barrera for £3.5m.

Only really seen him at the World Cup and the friendly against England, but had a good tournament and gave Baines a torrid time at Wembley. Good age at 23 aswell.

Could be an good little signing if goes through.

Be interesting what happens at Arsenal aswell; see Wengers finally got Kolscielny for around £10m (he's like Strachan, just with French players :P ) but Gallas, Silvestre and Campbell all off. Only really got Vermaelen, Kolscielny, Djourou (though just come off a long term injury), and Nordveidt/Bartley currently as Centre Backs, so gotta be someone else coming in. Talk of Juve after Clichy aswell, though guess Gibbs could step up if so. Wenger comments today look like in the market for another keeper aswell.

Be interesting what happens anyways. If Clichy went aswell, I'd guess that Steve would be pretty concerned that that's quite a lot of prem experience out the door.

There was no bid. There was an enquiry, and that's as far as it got. And given Wesley's comments today, it's a non-starter.

That aside, there's ways of Utd having cash to spend, which is a different thing to having cash to spend. It's abundantly clear that all that's available to Fergie is pin money without selling for the extra.

You're more than capable of posting your own 'nonsense' with comments on any team. What does that make you then?

Once you've removed your blinkered head from your arse you'd maybe realise that I'd have laughed no less at claims by Hull, Pompey, Liverpool, and any other financially f**ked up clubs of having money they don't have to spend. Do grow up, eh?

"Grow up". Moi? From the person who posted this about Fergie having cash to spend.

Also, no blinkers here. I blame Fergie 100% for not getting him last year. I saw Sneijder play for Real last year in Dublin and it was clear he was world class. Fergies refusal to deal with Madrid on the Ronaldo deal, any deal actually, has cost him. Why didnt he ask for cash + Sneijder last year? Neils response "Because they needed the cash" (Not an uncommon opinion) :P . I dont agree though. 65 + Sneijder wouldve been fine. Look at how Jose dealt with the Eto/Ibra deal. Great bit of wheeling and dealing, especially in these f**ked up times.

No Hargreaves either, Scholes on the way out, Carrick is shit, Anderson injured. Fletcher is hardly the most creative. Strategy for the season? Give the ball to Valencia and get a cross in.

Either Fergie has cash to spend but he's suddenly turned into a manager who thinks he can win stuff this year with a worse team than the team that couldn't win stuff last year.

Or he doesn't really have cash to spend.

Now, a smart mind would have realised that me laughing at you thinking he's got cash to spend doesn't only have the imagined hate you're fantasising about as the basis for it. It has a recognition that Fergie is a better manager than he's been able to be last season and will able to be this season behind it, because he'd much prefer the team he manages to not turn into losers.

Meanwhile, you've often taken the piss out of Wenger/Arsenal for saying they've money to spend in the last few years when it's been blindingly obvious that there's only been pin money available there, just as is the case is at Utd today.

But only me is the hater.:lol::lol::lol:

Not just me.

But YOU, all the same.

Do you think yourself deserving of the same bile you love to throw my way?

You should do. You do nothing different, nothing different at all.

You so often show yourself as the reason why Utd fans (rather than Utd itself) are so often hated. It's simply impossible to be able to have any reasonable discussion or make any reasonable comment without the likes of you decending into the pathetic. ;)

"What planet are you living on"? is not a reasonable response to a widely reported media story which I responded to. Utd made or intended to make a 29 million bid. It was widely reported in the media and commented on by Moratti himself. But you seem to think its beyond the realms of possibility that this could happen?

What I said "What planet are you living on" was in response to you saying Fergie had money available to spend.

As I've already explained, I'm sure he could find that money (via sales) if the player was available, but sat there waiting to be spent? Nope.

Fergie is only spending pin money because only pin money is freely available to him.

You dont know that for sure. Nobody does outside of Old Trafford.

True.

But I'm as sure about it as you were about Arsenal, which never stopped your comments. So why do you think I should stop mine, and why am I a hater but you're not? ;)

Brand new season, same old ABUs. :P

Brand new season, same old double-standards. ;)

Rafa Benítez made my life a misery at Liverpool, says Yossi Benayoun

• 'There is one reason I left – Rafa Benítez'

• 'If I played well, I never felt he gave me credit'

Yossi Benayoun has accused Rafa Benítez of trying to break him at Liverpool. The midfielder said the former Liverpool manager was the sole reason for him wanting to leave Anfield.

The Israeli midfielder, who joined Chelsea in a four-year deal this month, said the former manager made his life a misery while he was at the club.

"Everyone asks me why I left Liverpool," said Benayoun. "There is only one reason – Rafa Benítez."

The midfielder says the Spaniard, who left Liverpool to manage Internazionale, never treated him with respect he felt he deserved.

"If I played well, I never felt he gave me credit," he told the News of the World.

"When I scored, I still expected to be out of the team the next game. On two occasions early last season, against Fulham and Lyon, the fans booed when I was subbed. They thought I was playing well but Benítez told me he was surprised the fans booed because I was not good enough.

"He tried to destroy my confidence. You can't treat a player like this and expect him to be happy."

Benayoun said he was very unhappy but out of respect for the club he did not speak out. He said the players and people at the club know how he felt.

"I don't want to speak on behalf of other players at Liverpool, but people know what happened to Albert Riera and Xabi Alonso. It was the same for me. Benítez tried to break me like he broke Riera."

The 30-year-old said before the final game of the season Benítez pulled him aside in training and said: "You will not be in the squad for this game. Thank you for your three years of service, now you can call your agent to do a deal with another club."

"That's when Chelsea made an offer," said Benayoun, "and the deal was done before Benítez left."
