Yeah I think there is some teething problems with the new forum style and I do know Neil is doing a lot of stuff at nights when it is quiet which is giving a lot of duplicate posts and posts not quoting correctly I think.

Thanks for taking the time to reply to the comments so far, and good news that you are taking these on board.

As suggested before, perhaps a fan forum could be set up for 2011 with a few members from here, a couple from social networking sites and a couple of your team meeting up a couple of times before the event and once after it to give input into how things are going. This works well for Download and Reading/Leeds and is a good communication path between fans and event organisers.

Was a very good weekend not as good as 09 but still good. Also very good to meet you jim on friday your a cracking guy.

A few points i would like to make is putting the go north acts back in a smaller tent i think was better. Bring back the soco soical the strongbow tent was good but there was a better feel to the Soco. More bins in the campsite also i had to walk like ten mins to the nearest toliet and dont think that is very suitable. Couple of other things but am sure they will get said in this theard.

Cheers Samuel.

The Aberdeen angus stall trying to sell drunk people horrendous burgers on late Sunday night , trying to pass them off as angus burgers. I had one the day before and knew the difference immediately. I got my money back but still, disgraceful.

£3 to withdraw money.

Apart from that I had a fantastic weekend, it was near perfect. The best rockness so far in my opinion, although I noticed an increase in neds this year but no one can help that unfortunately.

Thanks Jim I had a blast! The acts were fantastic and front row camping was perfect!!

I thought this years event was probably one of the best. I do agree with a few of the points made previously:

The cash bar was a bit of a disaster resulting in horrendous waiting times, especially when we were just given cans. I did at times prefer having a can rather than a pint however, less likely to spill it whilst jumping around! I assume there is some new legislation that states we must get a receipt with our purchase and hence the cash bar?

I also noted a previous post commenting on staff transferring cans into plastic tumblers. I noticed them starting to do this on Sunday night and can only assume it was due to the muppets who were throwing them into the crowd (Can full of pee hurts more than a Cup!).

I thought the litter pickers in the arena done a good job at keeping the place reasonably clean. I did however notice some dedicated cup only collectors, clearly their job was to reduce the number of 10p refunds... sneaky! ;) The yellow camp-site looked like a bomb had hit on monday morning. Would more bins really make a difference though, who knows, some people are just like that!? Maybe handing out rubbish bags on the way in would encourage people to clear up after themselves?

Front row camping was a nice idea, we had a mix of tickets in our group, some VIP, some FR and a few normal. We all ended up camping in a quiet(ish) corner of yellow and it was just grand!

Why not do Front row stage to reward the early birds instead (like a golden circle)?

This would also resolve the problem with people rushing the front of stage, which this year, resulted in some fat security bloke interrupting the middle of a live set to ask people to move back. That was very very poor and he should not have been allowed to do that. If that had been in the middle of Norm's set he would have walked off!

Toilets in the yellow camp-site were clearly not an issue for most guys who just made use of the nearest fence (and some gals for that matter). A lot of my female companions complained about the lack of toilets however they also stated they were the cleanest festival toilets they've seen for years! The VIP toilets & showers were superb, well worth the money!

I thought there was a good selection of food, I was gutted to only find the rotisserie chicken stall on the last day, amazing value! Get stalls like this one to the front instead of crappy "Premium Fish &".

One last point though and then I'll shut up! The website needs fixing. The contact form clearly doesn't work and the white text on a light blue background is very hard to read. Don't print email addresses either, spam mail will come flooding in and stop any genuine enquiries from getting through!

All that said, I know there are a million other things going on behind the scenes making that festival magic happen so, well done to Jim and his team for putting on yet another fantastic weekend and I look forward to the next one!

Cheers

Nick

No to any Front row stage/golden circle, that's definately not a good idea!

And as for the security not being allowed to do that, why do you think these guys are there? Of course they need to monitor for crushing, do you really want another Roskilde??

Hi Jim,

I think an idea might be to have a screen in the VIP area showing what is on the screens at the main stage - I know i could have just walked out but we were meeting someone who had lost their phone so had no way to contact them.

Other than that awsome weekend!

Jim, I have to say that I really appreciate you finding the time and interest in posting replies to our messages on this board even after the festival.

What I and several other people pointed out in the Lowlights thread is that a LOT of people were throwing cans, bottles, beer and even piss at other people, and some people said that the full cans hitting on people caused some real injuries as well. This was my second time ever on a UK festival and first time in Scotland and this was a bit shocking at first for me. I have seen a lot of drunken idiots and stupid behaviour at all the festivals I've been here in Finland, but never that sort of behaviour from the crowd.

So what I'm asking is that do you have any plans for next year to avoid this? Sure, there will always be more idiots the more people is attending, but I think the organizers could do something to prevent the whole thing. How about, for example, completely stop selling any cans at the festival site? And one thing is that the security people could be adviced to throw these idiots out of the festival every time they see someone throwing something at other people. This year I saw several times people throwing cans etc very close to the security people who were just ignoring the whole thing.

So anyhow, what's your opinion on this, Jim?
