Young Stradmor Junior is going tothe festival for the first time, so We applied about eight weeks ago for a citizencard to get him in. It still hadn't arrived this week, so I dropped them an email - they claimn they've only had the application since june 3 (yeah, right) and it'll take 28 days to get here (said 21 days on the form).

Any ideas on how to get suitable Photo ID before Friday next week?

What do you mean by “to get him in”? Is he under 12 and you need to prove it in order to get in sans ticket? Is he over 18 and looks young for his age? Are you just taking ID to match his ticket?

The only circumstance under which you’ll need any ID really is if you need to prove that he’s under 12. Otherwise it’s not an issue.

I think they say that you can still be asked for ID but as far as I’m aware it very rarely happens anymore. As long as the picture on the ticket resembles him in some way there’s not really a great deal they can argue with as all the photo ID you need is on the ticket itself.

Like I said I’d contact the festival office if you need reassurance but in all honesty I really wouldn’t worry about it. If Glastonbury started turning people away because they didn’t have ID it would kinda make a mockery of having your photo on the ticket.

It's not like there's any legal aspect involved here they simply want you to prove that you're the person on the ticket. Not difficult when your picture's on the front of it.
