Medicine Bottles

Help,

I always carry a couple of bottles of herbal remedies (no, not illegal ones!) to festivals as I suffer from occassional panic attacks. They are not prescription medicines but they are in small glass bottles.

I can't transfer one of them because its in liquid form, the other medication would just look like disco biscuits if I the pills in a bag and would be seized without question (though the security guards would have a very chilled night's clubbing which would teach them a lesson). Should I declare them at the gate? Can I bring-in small bottles of this nature even though they are non-prescription?

Since you've had no replies yet....it's my first time so can't know for sure but I reckon those little glass bottles are so hard to smash and would be really difficult to use as a weapon so I reckon they would be ok. Also, security will be on the look out for anything beer bottle sized and up I should imagine. I'm sure if you're searched and you explain your predicament someone will help you out. You have to take your stuff at least as a "security blanket" (speaking as one who knows!) so you could try taking some in its original packaging and some decanted just in case they take offence to either. I'm sure it will work out for you, have a good one x x

Much as I don't condone bringing glass to the festival, they do sell Gaviscon in large glass bottles at the pharmacy. I remember reading somewhere at one point that medicine in small glass bottles was ok, however, thst was for prescription medication in its original bottle. If you declare it and they decide to take it off you, surely that would be stressful and probably increase the likelihood of you actually needing your remedies. Maybe contact infoman at the festival office for advice? Have a great festie! :)

i'd take them, as obviously you'll be looking after the glass, and take something to decant them into, just incase you get your bags searched at the gates. i use a herbal remedy and usually have liquid in a glass bottle, but did manage to find it available in capsules in a plastic bottle, so now take the capsules to festivals. don't know if that's possible with your remedy.

I'd be surprised if you got a response from the office at this stage. just pack them, the worst that can happen is you get them taken away, and if you're that worried pack them inside a pair of socks. Don't remove them from their original packaging, the police will charge you pending tox reports which can take weeks and that will ruin your weekend.

Be careful with them though, we thought they were unbreakable until my son managed to smash one accidentally.

If you go to any pharmacy and ask them to transfer them to plastic bottles they will (sometimes they charge you 40p or the like for the new bottle) have a great Glastonbury!! God I am excited!!
