Calling all campervanners!

how many of you are going down on tuesday night? we are and im just wondering how busy its going to be. In terms of traffic really, and also how good a pitch we are going to get.

Id have thought lots of you will be doing the same but hoping otherwise so we get a nice pitch close to the gate!!

Are you aware the campervan fields are open from noon? We are aiming to get there about 4pm so shouldn't be too bad traffic wise. Who cares where we are pitched we are there that's all that matters, no point stressing about something you have no control over!

Forgive me if i seem like im stressting, im not, im incredibly excited! the concern is probably partly due to the fact it took us 13 hours last year (should be 5!) due to THAT accident and im hoping for a smooth journey, thats all.

have you been in the camperfields before then(east)? whats this hill of death like that ive been hearing about?!!

We're leaving about 9.30 Tuesday morning from Staffordshire. Hoping to arrive about 2pm, as we are in a 37 year old vw camper we'll only be doing 50mph most of the way on the motorway. We are in west campervan field.

Normally the hill of death isn't that bad.

It's a climb of only 30 meters on a reasonable slope... easy peasy.

but.......... at the end of the night (3/4am) or the end of the festival (monday with all the gear) its a bugger

But its worth it as your bed awaits with your ensuite bathroom, fridge stocked with chilled water and a restfull nights sleep.

Can't wait ..... we will be there at about 2pm with a fair wind.

Pitched up by 3 with the bbq lit.

So we're thinkin the traffic wont be that bad right? due to only campervans going on the tuesday?

if thats the case, ill see you all there about 8 bells for a nice bit of scran before the week of madness begins!

We're also leaving from Staffs Tuesday am but around 0700 to miss the traffic around m6/m5 junction! Nice steady drive down aiming to be at East fields early Tues afternoon. Once there we are there and can relax!

Leaving Kettering around 9 ish am i right in thinking the M5 route will be okay midday time ?

Or are we better on the 303 ?
