Can you leave the site after entering and return?

I am planning on arriving Tuesday evening as I am working with Oxfam. Something has come up which means I might have to go home Wednesday, but will be able to get back the same day.... What is the policy on leaving the site (as in leaving the site completely by car) and returning? How do they manage it? I know they give you those temp passes if you go back to the car after entering.

Hope someone can help me with this!!

If you nee to leave the site to go back to your car for a bit then you must have your ticket with you and your wristband on to get back in. From memory, I don't think they set a timeframe but the problem you might have if you're planning to drive away and then drive back again is that you could run into a lot of traffic in both directions, making it very difficult to exit/re-enter the site and be ontime for whatever you need to attend. My personal advice would be to just come later on Wednesday evening/Thursday morning and politely tell Oxfam that you can't be around. It sounds like whatever you're doing is important, so they'll understand.

Yes, it's possible, but expect to get stuck in traffic on your way back.

If you're working for Oxfam, bear in mind that there's a chance that you'll be asked to work a shift on Wednesday. They do provide the ability for you to swap shifts though, if you find a willing partner.

I don't have a ticket though as I am working for Oxfam. I suppose I'd need to speak to someone more Oxfam specific about how they manage workers that leave and return. Just worries that I wouldn't be allowed back in? Since thats all we'll have is a wrist band and no ticket to back it up.... this is what I believe anyway... not entirely sure?!

I *think* that Oxfam workers have a different wristband thus stopping this ticket problem. Agree that you should contact Oxfam and talk through your options. If you try and do this before you get there you'll probably have more of a chance at sorting something out.

No problem leaving site by car and coming back in. I live about 30 minutes away and every year I drive in on Wednesday night, pitch the tent, drive out again to go to work on Thursday and return Thursday night/Friday morning. Traffic is a one way system so it always works fine.
