dan666
LMAO for real? People are gonna be PISSED with two pop-punk headliners. Hope we get Blink and MCR .
gazza_20
yea paramore and my chem for download. andy has said he'd have paramore soni said will not book mcr. so could be get my chem for friday headline with paramore 2nd stage header? it does say headliners, not main stage
jammy2211
Agree with both statements. Download has had such strong lineups over the past 2 years that its about time they had some shitty headliners compared to legendary headliners, alothough im very happy with SOAD and hopefully Blink. Hazz
well...i can already see the amount of people who are gonna get pissed off with that line up if thats the case. I dont know how it would work.
r0w
Wow - both Download and Sonisphere have a shocking set of headliners this year! I actually dont want to do either. Well looks like il just spend £200 on a trip to spain or somthin then. Download after redeeming themselves two years running after a shocking 2008 lineup....seem to have gone one step forward and 2 steps back. Wonder where Tool and Soundgarden end up next year....if at all??
kev1664
Does nobody think it could be a co-headline for MCR & Paramore at download & Blink @ sonisphere?

Hazz
I thought andy said he had only confirmed one other headliner. so the third headliner hasnt been confirmed yet

jammy2211
Biffy Clyro are getting announced as Soni headliner tonight so... er... that changes things.
Lithium05
MCR and Blink would both headline though... I reckon Paramore will be sub though if they do Download.
jammy2211
Paramore were utter shite at Reading last year, and that's coming from someone who doesn't dislike them. I really hope they won't be considered as main stage headliners. Second stage I could live with. MCR have released a solid album, but I really can't see them drawing a crowd at Download. Particularly if they were put up against the likes of Machine Head or similar. I think what really needs to be considered by the Download organisers is, yes, MCR and Paramore are VERY popular bands. But the majority of their target audience will be in the middle of their exams while Download is on. Reading is in the school holidays, they can get away with booking bands for the younger crowd. Download is attended by a slightly older crowd, most of whom have little time for these bands.
Lithium05
I think most of the MCR fans are a bit older now, they were doing examples and at school when they headlined in 2007... they're 4 years older now. bekimo
Could be talking headlining 2nd stage guys! Keep faith until 8.30, then we can all freak out when it comes back that DL has turned into Emo fest. I shall lead the way, I promise!! gazza_20
even soni is still in school time though for that crowd now, only a months time just under after download. i'm more than happy they wont be at reading though
spwan-of-the-devil
My thoughts if MCR on the bill will be headlining probs I hope not but first and second album stuff only please, Yes I know not going to happen.. Blink - Happy if it happens Paramore - Very happy as Ive not seen them yet but not headlining as I dont think they could pull off the main stage. If it turns into a emo fest get some decent emo then
Chavmeisterdeluxe
Was obviously someone at Radio 1 having a laugh as Soni are only announcing the one band, confirmed to be Biffy.

lharris92
tbh i think soni might have to announce more bands just to convince metal fans to buy weekend tickets, as there will be a mixed reaction about biffy headlining
spwan-of-the-devil
That's a bit of a paradox isn't it?! (Also I reckon MCR's new album is a bit too cheerful to be considered "Emo".)
Hazz
going on the shocking and f**king shit shambles that was the sonisphere announcement. we could end up with anyone now. its anyones game
