WildChildRockChick
Please can someone explain how camping works at V? I can see that there is red & yellow camping, are there others? I assume by all the requests for swops on here that you can't camp wherever you like, I also assume that Red is preferred to Yellow because that's the way most people seem to want to swop. What makes Red so much better than Yellow? I ask because I've never been and a friend might have a spare ticket and I'd like to know what Im doing before saying yes or no! Thank you in advance for your help

WildChildRockChick
Hi Rockchick There are only two campsites at V festival and yes it is only red and yellow..I wouldnt say that Red is the more desirable, there is no difference really between the two except that the yellow campsite wasn't an official campsite until about 3yrs ago..The thing is you can only camp o the site for whichyou have a wristband although from friday evening you can go onto the other campsites to visit ya mates..The need to swap is generally if most of ya mates are on one and you are on the other..I have this problem, all my mates are on Red and i have tickets for yellow hence the need to swap as altho u can visit them, you cant put your tent up with them...I hipe thi helps Mel
mfeltham
I thought if you had tickets for Red then you can only use the Red area. I didnt think you can go between camp sites? I know this was definaelty the case when the Yellow site wasnt controlled by V. Whether thats changed now....I dont know. Years ago when it was Red and blue campsites, both operated by V it wasnt a problem to go between both.
WildChildRockChick
tbf I didn't even realise there were official & unofficial campsites, I'd have thought that anyone camping unofficially would have been moved on, by police/organisers. Fluter
They used to have a bar in red, which I dont think is the case now. Red is bigger I believe but there is really no difference other than that, they both have food vans, stalls selling various festival gear. Yellow is also nearer to the Arena so less stumbling back time after a day on the booze!!

Skizz
ha ha yellow would suit me better then! The less walking the better in my book Is there some sort of central entertainment area at V? You know, not in the arena but outside, open all night (or at least very late), maybe other entertainment - comedy, bar, fairground - that sort of thing? plectrumknight
I think its a right pain the way they have the sites - its very common to have friends geting tickets and then ending up on different sites, and being allowed to go on either site would mean less hassle for the customers trying to arrange swaps so they can see their friends at night and mornings etc.
