tweemo freak
It's in the name. A review Fri Canterbury-I was so happy to be watching my first act of the festival and i've been kinda interested in them for a bit. Sometimes they got a little bit too pop but they had some good pop-punk tunes. 3/5 Booka Shade-I went in the ent to a) escape the rain and see Booka Shade live! I had found them pretty good but not the best recorded but live it was a phenomenon! I'm a bigger fan of theirs now 4/5. Freindly Fires- Never been a fan (see my comments on them on this forum for proof ) but i headed from Booka Shade in the Clash Arena to them on the main stage with an open mind. I was horrified. I'm sorry, but their brass section was annoying and made them sound like Duran Duran (no, stop, you're hurting me!) at times. And Ed Macfarlane's dancing *shuddder that only the disturbed give* 1/5 Enter Shikari- an astounding gig! They were better in the Barras in Febuary but they put in a great performance. It's a shame that they didn't do Sorry, You're not A Winner but Step Up, Mothership, Havok B, Anything Can Happen In The Next Half Hour (good to see that live, they left it out in Glasgow) and of course Juggernauts were all brilliant enough to make up for it 4/5. Fatboy Slim-His set (or what i saw of it) wasn't his best, and at times annoying but i can't disown him ever cuz his set was like the best party ever, it was proper fun and HE'S THE REASON THAT THERE's A ROCKNESS! 4/5 Pendulum. Woah! Just Woah! Once more i say Woah! Pendulum blew me away and i must see them live again soon. I wasn't expecting anything less than great, after all, theres top tunes on every record, but still couldn't have predicted how amazing these guys were. Loved Salt In The Wounds, Slam and the Voodoo People mix! 5/5 Sat Dan Le Sac Vs Scroobius Pip- I was glued in the tent by their set. I already thought that Scroobius Pip was a genius, and this proved my point. Dan is also a really talented musician. Great Britain, Thou Shalt Always Kill, Open Letter From God To Man, The Beat That My Haert Skipped,Get Better...I'm stuck for highlights. 5/5 PLan B- He was decent at times but WHAT THE HELL WAS WITH THE PAULO NUTINI COVER ;o !? Some of soul stuff was cheesy and he overloaded on it a bit. To be fair i missed part of his set to meet Dan Le Sac vs Scroobius Pip at the signing tent but this is from what i saw. But, while i prefer the early material, i like Stay Too Long and it was a bit of a moment when he played it. Im confused. 2/5 (for now.) Ragga Twins-Nice to see some old-style Drum n Bass and it was the perfect Rizla party set. Or jst the perfect Rockness party set. Or general party set. Youy get the picture. Anyway, i saw the first bit of them and it was ace. 4/5 Aphex Twin-INSANITY! BRILLIANT INSANITY! Richard D James is a genuine evil genius and his set was a wild, unpredictable, sample filled explosion of evil.. euphoric... GREATNESS. He had amazingly twisted visuals and loved the distorting of the front rows faces towards the end. YES! (note too much caps for one post) 5/$*/%^ing 5 Leftfield- A grat atmostphere for the whole set and i didn't have time to miss paul; i was busy raving. Also Song Of Life, Original then Afro-Left, what an opening trio. Combine that with Space Shanty, Afrika Shox and Phat Planet and it more than makes up for no Not Forgottten, More Than I Know or Open Up. 5/5 Sun Dananananananakroyd-(Btw the name needed two lines on the screen lol ) A fun start to Sunday with me dancing down the front despite my tiredness and the rain. Some Dresses was real fun. Twin Atlantic-I've seen them countless imes but they keep there ways fresh and actually change their selist once in a while. It's nice to see rock acts at Rockness so i really enjoyed these guys. 4/5 Hsdouken!- as you will knwow from one of my other posts, i didn't know that Hadouken! were on early and wandred into the tent by chance, only to see them on the stage. Even if i'd missed a few songs, what i saw was blinding and better than they were at Ironworks. I think they get along best in festival tents and That Boy That Girl was nice way to let put my anti-scenester anger after Freindly Fires on Friday. btw Turn The Lights Out........... TUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUNE! 5/5 Blondie- Fun set full of sing-alongs and great hits, Would've prefered Denis or Sunday Girl to, say Atomic, but i was good enough. And the Call Me/Uprising inro was good too. 4/5 Bloody Beetroots- Ace gig! It was mind eruptingly amazing aand seriously you don't get wilder crossover acts! GO SEE! 5/5 Vampire Weekend-A surprise! They were that bit better than i could've predicted and i was having a good time. Big reaction for Horchata, Cousins, Oxford Comma, A-Punk and the brillaint Walcott.4/5 The Strokes-It. Actually. Happened. The Strokes played a date at Rockness. Wow. From the second i recognised New York City Cops i was having a blast. Hard To Explain, The Modern Age, Soma, Reptilia, Juicebox, Someday, Last Night, Heart In A Cage, Take Or Leave It. All real moments. WHAT A ROCKNESS! Same time, same place, next year, ok! EDIT: Gosh i spell awful sometimes. Edited July 17, 2010 by tweemo freak

Poleski
Than you . Really like your review, way better than the official efestivals one or the Clash one. You summation of Aphex Twin (heay bass, weird faces, insane visuals and, crazy, crazy lasers) was perfect! I wish i could have seen Benga, but i got way too excited and forgort. What time was he on?
