What are they like for taking your luggage down? I read they charge 15 quid per extra bag return, what constitutes an extra bag?

I've never heard of this charge - never had a problem with luggage myself and I've never seen anybody have any bags refused for being too big or too many. Though I can't guarantee no problems.

We got the NE to Glastonbury but we only had one backpack each so can't really comment but I did see other folk with quite alot of stuff and no hassle.

We got the NE from Liverpool to Leeds last year and was actually pleasantly suprised with how easy it all was - no problems at all. A few people had more than one bag, gazebos etc, and they didn't seem to have any problems. The only complaint I had (and yes, it is a biggie...) was that the driver somehow managed to get lost on the way! We ended up driving right into the next town and it took us about 45 mins longer than it should have to get there, but hey...it was still quicker and easier than getting the train/shuttle bus with all of your gear. We're taking the NE again this year.
