Sending my daughter to Leeds for the firs time...

I reckon security will be stepped up pretty considerably this year. they were already planning to increase security measures, and then that thing happened at Latitude where those 2 girls were allegedly raped...FR got a fair bit of negative press from that so they'll be sure to take whatever measures necessary to ensure that the festival is visibly as safe as possible. I reckon this will probably be the safest festival we've ever seen to date.

Is there really much FR could have done to prevent it? It is just absolute knob heads going to the festivals to take adavantage of people. More security won't stop it. If people are going with the specific reason to commit crime in any form, they will just commit it, there is no way of cutting it out completly. Increasing security may stop immature people acting like dicks, but unless there is one security officer per person it won't make much difference.

There is way to reduce it, such as make eveyone register for tickets with pictures printed on tickets of the individual. Also background checks could also be done(bit extreme like) But basically if you have commited crime before and have been convicted of it (Theft, assault, violent crime) Then you are not permitted to enter the event.

Never gonna happen though

Not everyone with a record is a thug! It would be a stupid measure anyway as you can't stop people acting however they choose too. The most gentle polite person could be an absolute twat once they've had a few drinks and think there invincible because there with there testosterone filled friends!

Wherever you go whether it be a major event or small local event, there's always going to be trouble because what some people class as 'fun' is what other perceive as yobbish and violent. You can't ever control it but you can only help try and prevent by keeping your stuff safe and trying to avoid large groups of teens!

i don't think he's talking about people going a bit wild after a few drinks. He's talking about local scumbags who buy tickets solely to come to the festival to rob tents.

But yeah, there's absoultely no way of stopping them.
