From one angle I agree entirely with the sentiment he's expressed.

Going by what he's quoted as accurate, it shows just how stupidly greedy clubs (some, of not all) have become.

While they might have welcomed a few quid into their coffers, if it got shared round then it gives no club any extra advantage over any other, and so becomes worthless for those clubs - tho not to greedy directors who might have been imagining it in their pockets!

And it shows that their focus is now as businesses, and not as clubs in a competition. They celebrate a club going to the wall like a wannabee monopolist celebrating the demise of a competitor, and are forgetting that it's impossible to win any competition if you don't have anyone to compete with. ;)

Whatever might have been before, it's certain that the Prem has made that attitude far more prevalent. In fact, it was the whole basis behind the formation of the Prem in the first place, robbing the grass roots - the future of football - for immediate financial gain.

You know my feelings on Football... Its my opinion... Had it for 10 years now...

You all want pandering too... The fact is we all sold our souls... Oldham sold there's when we formed the greedy league...

barring the fans bit, oafs not far off.

it's a business now and everyone is in it for themselves. most celtic/rangers fans would be delighted to see the other go to the wall and die. how shit would that be?

the footballing authorities all in all are c**ts. for instance, how did that croat get away with that

that's two sets of fans out of a world of football. bournemouth fans i'm sure aren't c**ts. sc**thorpe fans i'm sure aren't. wolves fans i'm sure aren't.

plus, i think c**t is a bit strong. idiots perhaps for those celtic/rangers fans.

I don't know why people are getting upset with Oaf peddling his usual "anyone connected to football are c**ts" speil. He plays it frequently. It wasn't that long ago that he was of the belief that it was my twelve year old nephew's fault that Crystal Palace were going to the wall.

Watford had a vested interest in Portsmouth winning; they owe us £950k on 31 August, which we would have struggled to get if they were liquidated.

That said, I think the decision was a disgrace. My club is constantly in financial trouble, but the only time we ever went into arreas on our taxes was after selling our stadium and getting players to take a wage deferral. I'm tempted to write to Watford, urging them to stop paying tax and instead put the money into a high interest account. Small beer compared to the 80% of the "alleged" £34 million that Portsmouth have cheated the taxpayer out of.
