Anybody who is planning on getting the shuttle bus from Leeds

Was in Leeds yesterday and was on my way through the train station to get the train back home when i walked past the infomation centre inside leeds train station. they had a board out saying ''leeds fest shuttle bus tickets onsale soon''

So i went and asked how much and what date can you buy them from etc..

they said they would be roughly around £8 and will be available to buy around the end of this week and they adivse if you plan on getting the shuttle bus to the festival to book your bus tickets in ADVANCE because last year they had queues for hours. I most certainly dont want to be queueing for ages, so i think i might make the trip for some tickets...

There are large queues but they move pretty quick. Unless I can book them online I'll just be queuing as usual. Isn't too bad if you have a few cans while you're waiting.

surely it doesn't matter that much if you but a ticket before it? won't you still have to queues to get on the bus?

my understanding was that you pay when you get on or show your ticket? so either way you'd be in the same line. anyone shed some light?

i suppose your right here, but this is what i got told by the people behind the desk. i suppose there aim is to sell as many tickets as possible in advance?

completely agree here. i'm rather confused as to why i got told this by the info centre in leeds now...

There's a queue to an empty bus which sells tickets, you then move along and wait for a bus. I can only assume you'd be able to bypass the tickets queue and just wait for a bus but I don't see how this would work.

Queued last year at about 11.30ish and only waited for about half an hour IIRC. I'm assuming that time is about the busiest in terms of people going to the festival on each day, so hours seems a bit of an extreme estimate. Think I might just get a taxi between four of us this year, though.

In 2008 I bought a wristband for the weekend that allowed me to go to & from the site as much as I wanted, is this no longer available?

yes the wristbands for weekend bus tickets are still available, they are £17

Rang them, but you can only get the weekend bands on the day you buy, not over the phone. So pre-booking is nonsense.
