First time at V

Was just wondering, I'm 17 and going with a few friends and was cautious on taking alcohol into the campsite.

Will we be okay taking a few crates of beer and maybe a bottle of spirits in our bag. i will be carrying the crate just in my hands so was wondering if i would get stopped? as i dont want to lose my alcohol for the weekend!

Also, what are the chances of us being able to get served when inside the arena or 'bacardi/carling' tent and pub thing?

it's probably just the same as anywhere else, if you normally get served you'll be fine.

Bringing your own alcohol you will be fine, ive never seen anyone havin their booze taken away from them for being underage, i started going to festivals at 15 and have never even been asked.

gettin served in the arena will be more difficult, more relaxed than a normal bar but you are still better off making do with your own stuff. Its bloody expensive in the arena anyway! Just sneak some in

I was 17 last year and walked past police and people waiting checking wristbands with a trolley clearly carrying 6 crates of fosters, trust me you will be fine, if i was you take baggy shorts etc because you gonna have to smuggle cans into the arena, the chances are you won't get served without I'D, last year I had no problems taking 3-4 cans past them every time, try and go in when it's busy

I forgot to say about spirits, take them in plastic, they will only ever take glass bottles off you, and obviously cans not bottled beer

You can take as much as you want into the site, just no glass bottles.

May I recommend pre-mixing a load of your favourite spirit and mixer into plastic bottles at home then goto Lidl or alike, buy a few 'freezer bags' and bags of ice cubes then put the majority of ya booze into them, will stay cold most of the weekend, just remember to empty the melted ice out of the bags each morning or you'll have a soggy tent.

Also a squashed bottle of pre-mixed booze fits nicely under your belt covered by your top and cans in pockets, I can normaly get through the whole of V without buying any booze on site.

for smuggling spirits into the arena at t ive always used the full proof capri sun with twist cap you can get nearly a half bottle of spirits in one of those babies and can easily fit 2 down your back of shorts etc.
