Tents in Campervan field

We've never been to Staffs before, how strict are they about tents next to your van in the campervan field?

i gather it all depends on what mood the security staff are in. The official rules say absolutely no tents in the camper van field, but apparently in past years they have sometimes allowed this but other years you will come back at night and find it has been removed. Its whether or not you wish to take a chance

Oh, that doesn't sound good. At Chelmsford they're really relaxed. What about awning tents attched to the van? Have you camped in the van field before then?

very strict. but an awning is fine so attatch it to the side of your van.

yeh an awning is just an extension of the camper van and as long as there are no more than 4 people with tickets staying in the campervan/awning, should be no problem

Totally depends on the stewards, last year we were on the end towards the front and had our gazebo up by 1pm, there were quite a few by us with tents and like I said we were on the end and one of the main walk ways and no-body told us to take it down or the tents, we even talked to quite a few of the stewards.

The 2 years previous (same kind of locations) there were right jobsworths about both years and told us to take the gazebo down, so we took the legs off it and one guy came around and told us under no circumstances was it to go up and he'd keep checking. So we put it up around 5 or 6pm and no-one said anything after that.

There was 2 guys who pitched their tent next to our camper 2 years ago that were security late Friday night and Saturday morning the were told to move or they would be ejected!! (thought it was a bit harsh seen as they were working)...

So it totally depends.

I stayed in the campervan field for the first time last year. We pitched our tent mid afternoon on Friday and nobody said a word to us all weekend.
