I wouldn't worry about it. It was the same in June for Glastonbury when everyone was worried bands be grounded by the ash cloud and it all turned out fine.

Oh yeah, remember seeing you mention that before. I'm due back from Berlin on the 25th, so it doesn't give me a lot of room for manouvre if they go ahead W/C 23rd. Fingers crossed they get called off before then.

Bu I doubt it'll affect things much, FR have probably more than planned in case a situation like this occurs especially after the lolcano.

There was strikes the weekend of the rage factor, luckily they got support staff or staff from other airlines to man my plane to London from Newcastle. I don't think it will be that bad tbh.

Isn't only affecting about five airports!?(obviously that's quite a lot and they are the major ones, but it dies mean there are others for bands to arrive at!)

yes, people really are "c*nts" for wanting and expecting a reasonable wage. It's truly outrageous that people expect themselves to have what they regard as a fair day's pay for a fair day's work, especially when you're wanting to have some fun.

I'm not aware of them having been on strike for many years. What is it you're imagining?

Manchester and Birmingham aren't ran by BAA either so will be ok - they're likely to be somewhat busy though if the strikes happen as airlines divert planes to try and get round it.

Megahurtz, I'd check your travel insurance as some of them have clauses covering getting your money back in the case of strikes. If the airline can't trnsport you, they'll refund your plane ticket but you'll need insurance for costs like gig tickets and hotels.

I'm suprised nobody has tied this in with Axl's punctuality problem yet. What about bands flying between Reading, Leeds & Rock En Seine (Blink 182, Arcade Fire QOTSA), will they be affected?

Exactly, MAN, LGW and BHX have direct flights to the US, as does Bristol, it wont be an issue whatsoever.
