Yes I am calling you a liar because you would most definitrly have told us this before if it were true. Equally, why should I believe that you didnt claim JSA when you could have done but now decide to claim tax credits you say yourself you dont need.

Oaf - nobody believes you lad. Let it go.

How hard would it have been to find out? You see, we're expected to believe that you have run a massively successful company employing several people. We're expected to believe that you have worked at senior levels in other companies. But you went for 3 months without checking whether you could claim JSA because you didn't think you could. Can you understand how these things just dont match up?

I didn't need the money... Once I ran out of the money I went to the job centre for advice... Is it really that complex ? At 22 I didn't have a fantastic understanding of the benefit system. Once I needed to understand it, I went forth and seek advice... Surely not that weird ?

Completely and utterly wierd. I cant think of a single person I know who would choose to live off their savings and use them all before asking if there was anything they were entitled to. Equally, I cant think of a single person I know who could go 3 months spending all their savings without someone suggesting they make a claim.

But then, from the job you did and the hours you worked, you didn't save up 3 months worth of savings anyway and this is all nonsense.

I lived three years at home (parents) including a year on a full time sandwich placement paying £8,000... The first and third year of Uni I worked for the sports security company... Finally moving out into my own place in the final year of Uni... Which was the first year of my wife going to Uni...

Making any more sense...

I've known a couple of people who have probably been entitled to claim but have lived off savings instead. In one case it was the "shame of being dole-scum" (but he was a bit of a tit) and another had signed on before, hated it and would rather use savings than go through with it. Neither were just leaving uni though.

I'm actually heading back to the UK in a few months and I'll have a fair bit saved. Giving very serious thought to not claiming JSA, at least to begin with, for similar reasons to the second example I gave above.

I dont doubt that people are daft enough to do it - or even that it's possible to come out of uni and do it. The bigger point is that he has never mentioned it before and given the many, many times he has expressed a view on benefit claimants he most certainly would have. If pogo hadn't pointed out that he'd dropped a bollock and forgotten which story he had told before, he wouldn't have made this one up to cover his tracks.
