Tom75
Hi there, Being a bit of a pipe and slippers man, I was wondering whether anyone knows where the best place to camp is if you're not looking to stay up all night i.e. for a good bit of kip once the bands have finished and all that...? I heard the family area might be a good place? Is there such an area where things are a little more low key in the early hours? cheers Tom p.s. should really have title the post Quiet-er camping area - i know it's a festival so don't expect silence, just used to Glastonbury and people falling on your tent at 4am Edited August 23, 2010 by Tom75
shoebox
I've camped in the same spot both times that I've been before, which is actually relatively close to the "main arena", just behind the Tipi Tent. And whilst you can hear the general murmur of that tent, the campsite itself is relatively peaceful. Yeah you do get the odd group of people sitting around chatting after dark and, of course, they can get louder as the booze takes hold, but because there's no camp fires allowed and the "main arena" is open until 3am, this appeared to be a rarity. I don't know about the rest of the site though and I may have just had a lucky experience. That said, someone did fall asleep playing their "Greatest Soft Rock Ballads Of All Time" CD quite loud last year, but the stewards tracked him/her down and got them to turn it off. fi~fi
We have camped in different spots over the years, and have always had good nights sleep with the minimum of disturbances........you can sometimes hear a distant hum from the Tipi, but it has never been too intrusive. Last year we were further along the main track and had loads of space too. EOTR has never attracted the rowdy/thoughtless crowd you find at some festivals ! ( and long may it stay that way !!!)
