spoke to a friend who's at reading now. he said it's pouuuuuring down, parts of green are pretty boggy and it's busy but spread out so there's still quite a bit of space.

wellies are gonna be essential because it's gonna carry on raining all night so it's gonna be awful by tomorrow

yeah i'm about 10 miles away and it's been constant rain since this morning. bbc news just said torrential pourdown all night and then it's gonna clear up in the morning. gutted being there now. i had an early entry but then sold it on ebay. got £51 for it, i bet that guy is kicking himself now. so glad i'm at home!

just popped down to the station after work to get rid of a early entry ticket, so many stupid kids who showed up without early entry tickets just sitting around in the rain. managed to sell it for 40 quid!

did get stopped and searched by the police though, was ok as i only had one early entry ticket and really only wanted the money i made from it, but the police said nah you should get 30/40 quid for it!

That reading

Leeds is fine, about the same as last year, bit damp but nothing like 2008 and the weather for leeds is amazing, tiny bit of rain tomorrow but good for the weekened

How long before the BBC wish they went to leeds, Reading is going to be flooded by friday

Well it stopped raining heavily here (15 miles from Reading) about 11, just a mist now, hopefully that will be the last of the heavy rain. It's a drag about the site being... unstable underfoot, always a pain in the arse lugging shit around when it's like that. I'll be setting off in about 2 hours, might report from my phone when I'm all set up.

I leave you now with an optimistic sentiment. Last year at Download it pissed it down with heavy rain all day on the wednesday and the "village" area was a total wash out, it was the worst I've ever known the ground at a festival, massively hard to walk on. However at 10am on the thursday, after a couple of hours of sunshine, the ground was solid again as if it hadn't rained in weeks (in all areas but those surrounding toilets and waterpoints)... All it takes is a little sun, and the forecast isn't too bad :)

I've never known it really muddy in the arena at Reading. As a weekend non-camper I think I'm going to gamble with some sturdy waterproof trainers.

I've got a couple of mates intending to go camp tonight. I bet they don't after seeing this and will be joining me on the train each day.
