Reason they shouldn't headline. Phoenix needed lights to show, otherwise it wouldnt even have come close to how good they were, granted the same could be said about Delphic who should have headlined FR stage. LCD also hugely important and deserving after 3 amazing albums. Phoenix were 100% the best act I saw that day. Mumfor just not the same and wish I had gone to QOTSA.

Think it shows that what genre the music is has less to do with crushes than how many nobheads who only ever listen to Radio 1 there are there. I'm not really being a music snob (well maybe a bit), but just trying to say people who go for the music are likely to be more friendly than people who go just to get wasted and piss about.

Pits at places like Download will always be safer, everyone there knows the deal and the etiquette. A good proportion of the R/L probably have never been involved in a pit before. People were making them during Paramore and You Me At Six etc and I saw quite a few people go down and no one help them back up.

Was going to go and see M&S but the sheer amount of people heading that way I knew we wouldnt get anywhere near the tent.

*As for seeing QOTSA, f**king dreadful band, and please before you lecture me I have had to bear witness to their shitty brand of pub rock, with Olivieri, without him and also under the many guises the ginger c**t has been under. You would think I would learn.

Indeed.

I've been to one Leeds festival and for the most part I f**king hated the people. The only complaint I have of the whole festival was the amount of w*nkers there were lingering about, and it got so much worse after the beer and drugs kicked in.

Me and my missus camped in Green (campsite B) but that was because of 'transportation problems' - and you'd think that because you were further away, you'd have a lot less w*nkers but honestly if Green or Brown were the tamer camp sites, then I dread to think what it would have been like slept in the favelas of White and Yellow. I have very little bad things to say about the Leeds Festival experience but the seemingly vast majority of w*nkers in the campsites was one of them.

Oh God yeah

The vibe surrounding the NME stage at Leeds was f**king hostile, man. My missus was looking forward to them and we were behind the middle barrier (don't ask how we got there) and before they took the stage we had to get out of there because the crowd was so vicious - we saw girls being bottled, people being smashed in the face... it was f**king astonishing to see that sort of thing when you'd go in expecting a relaxed crowd of people who wanted to see a folk band. So many people were leaving and so many people were arriving - it was mad. The crowd there was more hostile than Limp Bizkit's which is saying something when a typical Limp Bizkit crowd consists of a bunch of rapists.

We spent 10 minutes of the set outside watching the screens and even there people were causing trouble. Bottles being thrown everywhere, kids climbing up the NME Tent poles, girls being felt up, verbal abuse as far as the ears could hear - it was f**king hostile. We decided it was for the best if we went over to see QOTSA.
