Smally
To be honest compared to last year security seemed so much stricter, on the spot wristband checks,
tolywoly
We were camped in brown, which was pretty quiet. Took a walk on Sunday night to see what was happeing in the other campsites. Saw a lot of attempts to get big fires and a bit of mayhem going, but security kept a lid on things. Plus the organised bonfire and campsite djs seemed to keep folk occupied. There was however some kind of fight club blocking the path between green and brown when we were heading back to our tent. That's a new one. Dan R
I personally had absolutely no trouble in blue B On the Saturday morning some twats near us threw a gas canister on a fire so we were a bit nervous after that That night we saw some CATs round there camp having a word, and they werent there on the sunday by the time we got back from the arena they'd gone Other than that we saw maybe one or two attempts at a big fire but security were there in a shot Felt really safe, much more so than orange in 08 and blue last year
handsintheair
We were camped on the border between red and blue, and had the rainfly of our tent slashed to bits Mon morning while we were sleeping inside!! My boyfriend was so pissed off when we woke up he would have killed the bastards if he'd caught them. There were no security around Mon morning (wtf???), so we filed a report at the festival welfare tent in the village. What a f**king joke. One woman essentially said to us "well Leeds has a reputation, so if you don't want to be abused you shouldn't come to the festival." We'd come all the way from Canada, and didn't have the option of packing up and leaving Sat night like many of the people around us. Plus we'd paid a lot of money for weekend tickets that include camping for four nights, so why should we have to leave early? I suppose we could have camped in one of the so called "quieter" camping areas -- Green or Brown -- but tbh we didn't want to spend an hour walking to the festival site, even where we were in Red was a good 20-30 min walk. We saw some amazing bands and met some really cool people over the weekend, but having our expensive tent slashed for no reason ruined the experience for us. This is the last UK festival we'll ever go to. On the upside, we had an amazing time at Pukkelpop the weekend before. At least Belgians know how to respect each other and each other's property.
