It's something i will never get with Reading. Everyone pushes forward to see the band, knowing full well they will not get to the barrier, and that if everyone pushes forward it will only cause crushes.... so they do it anyway. Even for bands where there is no need to cause crushes. If you stand the f**k still then you will see the band better then iff you are hamming the person in front. You can still jump around/start pits without causes risk to others in front.

Was this towards the left of the stage? If so I was shiting myself; never hit the deck at a gig before but could feel a guy under me and it's probs the most scared I've ever been in my life (at a gig). It was complete madness, security weren't really doing anything about it in my eyes; if there's a crush the worst thing you could possibly do is shout and wave your arms to say "GET UP". Think by the time Vertigo finished into Last Post On The Bugle it had dispersed but was still a really scary moment.
