yeah, you have a point. I was just making the case that at least Adele writes her own stuff and sells records with her voice, rather than shaking her butt to a load of lasers and backing dancers doing cartwheels.

Which reminds me, thought Rhianna looked terrible last night. Seemed as though she was doing her own tribute to Whitney Houston by being totally fucked up on coke. Wouldn't be surprised if we see her life spiraling out of control soon

can't listen to it at work, but I'll check it out later. The original pisses me off, for me it totally upsets the flow of Pepper. But then again, who am I to argue.

Newly reformed Beach Boys peformed last night as well. They sounded pretty good, I really wonder how much of the vocals they're actually doing though, I imagine the "backing singers" mics are actually turned up full blast. Mike Love does his best at a Jimmy Saville impression as well. A little embarrassing

Know what, this page has got me thinking. I've never listened to a Beatles album. Heard the singles, how can you not growing up in our culture, it's folk music, but never bought/downloaded/streamed/consciously played any of their stuff. Hmmm...

hehehe, it's not a deliberate thing, and it's not based on dislike, I'm not that awkward or bloody minded, just never got round to it or felt the need to.

You're in a position I would love to be in. So many happy times ahead! :)

Also Harvest by Neil Young is 40 years old.

... Neil Young ....

I wonder if Neil still feeds the ducks at the pond in the town (morelike a village) where he lives (or lived?) - I saw him doing that once nearly 20 years ago now but didn't have the bottle to say hello.

I can't actually remember where that was, but it might have been called Woodside or something (if not it was somewhere close-ish by to what I'm thinking was called Woodside). Somewhere near-ish to San Fransisco.

yeah, drove past the house (or at least, the house my friends said was his), and then later on when in Woodside he was sat by the pond.

On the same trip or another one around the same time I also drove past Clint Eastwood's house (same proviso as above) in Carmel - on 18 Mile Drive if I'm remembering correctly.

My memory of Clint's gaff is of a surprisingly small bungalow with a nine-hole pitch and putt on the front lawn - but it's possible I have a confused memory there, and I remember that particular house just because it was very different to all the mansions that made up most of the road.

Got to be honest, I'm not a celeb annoyer (of the few I've met) but I would have walked up and said hello to Shakey.

And a picture with Clint Eastwood would be a welcome addition to any downstairs toilet!

Neil Young busking in Glasgow in 1976.

Been listening to a lot of Neil bootlegs recently.

This from a bar in New York in 1974 being one of my favourites. Not great quality but the "intro" to Motion Pictures is hilarious.
