oh Nal, as I know you like afrobeat, are you familiar with Soothsayers? I've been meaning to tell you about them/

They were the backing band for when I saw Johnny Clarke a couple of weeks agoand did a few of their own numbers before he joined them on stage, and some of it was great (I've not checked them out any more than that myself).

are you not familiar with the Cardiacs? You've missed out big time.

They're quite possibly the most original and inventive British band of the eighties. If you can find it I recommend you track down their tape that's (I think) called 'A little man and a house and the whole world window' 'The Seaside'.

realising my error, I've just corrected the tape title in that post.

There's actually two different versions of the tape that is 'The Seaside'. If you stumble across the first release of it you've struck gold, because they lost the master tapes and had to re-record from scratch, and the 2nd version is lacking something of the original (which I used to have, but a mate 'borrowed' it and it was never seen again :().

Try this one as something a little easier to get to grips with....

Not bad. Not bad at all. Cheers for that. Will be checking them out.

Not familiar with them no.

Youtubed them there. Pretty sweet! Pretty sweet indeed.

They're playing gigs all over England in July/August/Sept. None in Ireland of course. A few in London in September. I've a mate moving there around then. May pencil in a trip to coincide!

Can't see it myself either. Way too much bad blood between Slash and Axl, plus all of them are keeping active and doing ok on their own projects. (although I actually think Slash would be up for it, I can't imagine Axl letting him anywhere near GnR though). Saying that stranger things have happened

I still think they're worth going to see now. I actually quite like Chinese Democracy, of course its got a load of overblown w*nkery on it, and it actually sounds like it took 15 years to mix, but Axl can still write a fucking tune. There's some great pieces of Rock on that record.

I take it back. What a prize c*nt! And fuck the o2 for giving into his demands

I bloody hope so. Did he not tour last time and only do like 8 dates in total though?

Cool. I'm sure I read on the last tour that Edinburgh was his only UK Date. I would defo go see him but don't know If I could afford it if he didn't do a Scottish date.

You're correct by the way. Fook all dates. 28 in total. 15 in Europe. I dont think his voice can take long tours. His singing style must destroy him.

He played 3 in Dublin though. None of which I went to. Pricey and wasnt such a fan at the time.

On a side note - I sometimes wish I never got into Waits. Almost everyone else seems so boring now..

First thing I am doing when I wake up tomorrow is going on YouTube and searching 'Tom Waits Letterman'
