Loving "Nina Simone Sings the Blues" lately.

Can I ask, did you see live at Ronnie Scotts? just Nina and a drummer, viewed it out of curiosity not really knowing anything about her, I was completely captivated. Well worth a view imho.

Think the DVD is best watched as opposed to the CD.

I remembered about this version of this song the other day, so went hunting for it ... and was pleased to find a properly filmed/recorded version.

From 1997, here's David Byrne doing a raved up version of the Talking Heads song 'I Zimbra'. It sounds dated now (booo), but it blew my mind when I first saw it (so much so I went and saw another 4 shows)...

Enjoy :D

Words fail me, jack. I dunno how you live with yourself. This makes russy's decision to watch doves look positively inspired!

'shall I watch bloc party or Neil young?' I'm pretty sure there's only ever one right answer to this question.

At the time I was 14 going on 15, so I was still getting into music.. I hadn't a clue who Neil Young was at the time. Still, I had a better music taste than 99% of 14 year olds. ;)

Today, what with it being nice weather and my weekend I've been discovering Neil Young, an artist who I know to be a legend but have never taken the time to get to know in any depth. I picked After the gold rush as my first album to dip in on and it's very pleasing, should be interesting to see how his catalogue works for me.
