Vieuphoria
best and favourite are 2 very different things. But at this moment in time... my favourites are... Band: Warpaint Solo: Beck This will change daily though
Dave The Hedgehog
I don't normally do favourites because I'm the type of guy to put his record collection in colour co-ordinated sub-sections but I think if I were to seriously consider my favourite band of all time, it'd probably be either The Jesus and Mary Chain or Swans. My favourite artist would be either Bruce Springsteen, Eugene Chadbourne or Prince. Justifying why is a whole other can of worms.
rexclark
Solo artist, I'd go for Bowie. As for band, I really couldn't say.

j-j-j-j-joe!
My record collection is in a bizzarre chronological, alphabetical, order of preference state of organisation, understood only by goldfish and Tibetan monks. And i think 'best' is an impossible word to put into this situation. Everyone will have a different opinion, and it really depends on the person. 'Favourite' is different however. The first time I listened to Radiohead I just thought 'YES!' and I have no doubt that they will always be my favourite band. But I would hesitate to say they are the best band ever, because I don't have the experience, knowledge or objectivity to make such a claim. Vieuphoria
might change my solo to Laura Marling at the moment. But Beck is the king overall
Joe-
In my opinion; Band: Modest Mouse (imo, my favourite band ever ever) Solo: Hendrix
jimmyd93
Best Band: Radiohead Best solo artist: Tricky one, at the moment would probably have to go for Eminem, but that could change at any moment...
RichieParf
I'm gonna split it into current and old (sort of) to make it a bit easier to choose OLD Band: Pink Floyd Solo: Bob Dylan NEW Band: Green Day Solo: Frank Turner

5co77ie
Actually my solo act has changed - having just heard Sam Cooke - for vocal depth he can't be beaten, not even by the bruised frailty of Gram Parsons.
joe1990
Pretty much, there is an Oasis thread in there and you'll notice no one has said Oasis are the biggest band of all time since the Beatles though... /index.php?showtopic=97952&st=1240">http://www.efestivals.co.uk/forums/index.php?showtopic=97952&st=1240
