5co77ie
I have been following the progress of this for a while, cannot wait! Me too _ with there finally being a decent attempt at a comic book to film attempt now made - I look forward to this without fear it'll be terribly executed. Wooderson
Me too _ with there finally being a decent attempt at a comic book to film attempt now made - I look forward to this without fear it'll be terribly executed. What was the "decent attempt at the comic book film"? - - - Much as I admire Kirkman for some of the stuff he's done - he's also put out some awful shite. Darabont will hopefully make a good fist of this but Egg from This Life doesnt do it for me I'm afraid.
jump
I'll reserve hoping too much till it's actually on. I'm don't want it to be like Smallville with horrid costumes & SFX ruining it for me.

themuel
Egg from This Life doesnt do it for me I'm afraid. Oh he does for me. It's a double bonus. Post apocalyptic is one of my favourite genres and get eye candy thrown in for free!
minute5072
Pre air of the first episode has leaked. Quality is seemingly a bit poor but alright on a smaller screen. Will be waiting until its broadcast to get a proper copy but thought I would give a heads up to anyone who cant wait...

luckysalt
Well, that was just brilliant. Waited and watched it in HD, FX were bloody great not putting any adverts on! surely they won't do that every episode

I reckon the lack of adverts will have been down to the first episode being sponsored by a big product in America. They did it for 24 once, loved it. Just a shame they can't do it every episode! jump
Really pleased with it, glad it's not like smallville where it has f**king shite costumes & SFX.
sifi
I'm going to hold-fire on watching it until they are all available, and then watch them one after the other. Possibly over the Christmas holidays.
G-Stud
Loved it. FX only showed the first ep with no breaks as it was 'feature length', there'll be breaks in the rest of the series.

Think it aired in the US without breaks too, but you can tell when they were editing it together where the ads where gonna pop up. Apparently it aired without breaks as a sponsor was doing subtle product placement but I didn't even realise it was meant to be selling something though. 5co77ie
I was gutted - they only loosely stuck to the first episode and missed out some classic frames of the comic. Now you've seen episode 1 you can compare it to the original comic here: http://www.newsarama.com/php/multimedia/album_view.php?gid=1358&page=1 edited to add: I did like the new tank bit though - hoping for a few more changes/improvements Edited November 8, 2010 by 5co77ie

The same guy who did the comic has complete control over the show it seems anyway. So anything thats changed he's obviously changed it for the better he believes
G-Stud
Yeah, supposedly Kirkman's re-writing some of the books to correct mistakes he's made and so the series flows better. I'm loving the series anyway, can't wait for episode 2!
jump
The ratings of the 1st show were really good so now have now commissioned a 13 episode 2nd series.
sifi
I thought they'd actually commissioned the second series before the first one had even been released? There was an interview with one of the actors before it aired on Radio 5 where he said it had already been picked up.
