The Walking Dead

I don't see Negan coming anytime soon,

If you're reading the comics stop reading this now, if you aren't then carry on, no spoilers for tv people

So theres 137 comics currently released,

issue 48 is the end of the Prison arc

issue 67 is roughly where we are now, in this issue Eugene confesses he was lying about being a scientist but also at the end of the issue Aaron turns up, so we are kind of in that issue and have been a while now.

issue 100 is where Negan makes his first appearence although the Negan storyline begins will begin as soon as they go with Aaron, SO it is possible to bring him in earlier, but storytelling will suffer because of this I feel.

But I imagine the rest of this season and season 6 will be pretty dull if you're after zombie action, theres a lot of new characters to be introduced and interact with the core group and that will be main of season 6 I imagine, the group size will more than double and then well Im not saying anymore.

Just read 137 yesterday btw as it was only released yesterday, great issue. I urge anyone getting bored with the show, download the comics, give them a shot. The comics are years in front of the show timewise. I love them to bits.

i don't particularly care about spoilers myself but i'm sure many will, so probably best to spoiler the answer to this - in the comics, has Morgan caught up with the group at all? although it hinted that he was on his way to find them at the end of the last half of the series, he's obviously a long long way behind them

Yes.

In fact it should have happened already.

Basically the same thing happens in the comic as the show, Rick, Abraham and Carl go back to Ricks old town to get some guns I believe and also check in on Morgan, at this point Rick and Abraham absolutely hate each other. This is from the start they aren't friends, it takes longer to get there so they sleep overnight in a car, at this point is where a group of guys come and try and rape Carl as was on the show but it was Daryl with Rick on the show, same sort of outcome happens and Abraham finds a new found respect for Rick and opens up more and they become good friends, it feels much more organic and the way they played it out on TV was just to give Daryl something to do on the show as he has no source material, I wasn't a fan.

Anyway, they get back to the town and Morgan is in a state cus his son has turned walker, but he leaves with Rick and stays with the group from then on in.

The reason for the difference in the show is the actor playing Morgan was filming for something else so wasn't available to do all the TWD filming so they had Rick go back whilst they were still close enoug and he was free to do one episode of filming, planting the seed so he could catch up later in the show.

I will say however, don't expect much from Morgans character he's pretty much just a background character in the comic.

Your main characters are Rick, Andrea, Carl, Michonne and Abraham.

With Glenn and Maggie getting a lot of time too.

Where I am now in the comics however is a different story altogether but lets not get too far ahead of ourselves eh?

5/6 out of 10 this week. Once again, the season episode count needs lowering to avoide these boring bits.

Cool bits:

The bridge bit where we got a zombie kill of the week again.

Them walking down the road brought images of the zombies to mind and i had a feeling Rick might say "we are the Walking Dead" bit in this ep. i believe he says it very early on in the comic if I've remembered correctly.

The ending making me want to see next ep straight away.

The show now showing how everybody is kind of going mad but i hope they don't play on it too much as they have done in the past.

Dumb bits:

That booze would have knocked Abraham on his arse.

The part where rained at a very convenient time.

I'm not sure what people expect anymore. We are 5 seasons in and it has been like this all along. People seemed surprised.

It's nice to see that they are given time to do these kinda of episodes. I guess it had to be slow to show some of them giving up and getting down about the situation, which leads up to the walking dead speech, would have been a bit daft all done in 10 minutes.

yes, Aaron at ruddy last!

Already I'm annoyed by his character - the episode of coincidences - the music boxes, the rain, the storm/trees etc - Lost anybody?

That was a great image of the two ladies with guns in the dawn - quality!

Awww Daryl had a thing for Beth.

...and those complaining about the speed - it's been like this since series 1 - made for the box set innit!

Yeah I said that, defiantly feels the case, although the story arc we are now entering is.... well its LONG.

VERY, VERY, VERY LONG.

You'll either love what the Walking Dead becomes, or you'll hate it.

I reckon a lot of people on here will hate it.

I struggle to find what will be the season and mid season start/end from here on in to be honest, I mean things happen of course they do, but... well I can't really go into it any further

I was reminded a lot of Lost in the latest episode. Mainly the frustration and unbelievable events (yes I know the whole ruddy thing is practically an unbelievable scenario don't be so pedantic). Also getting annoyed on a weekly basis of the 'Next time on The Walking Dead' trailer right at the end of every episode that practically ruins the next episode! This weeks was a gem! Who is this guy? Is he a saviour? An enemy? 'Next time on The Walking Dead...IT'S A TRAP!', Oh great thanks for that guys.
